What is the route of SBS 56 from 1985 to 1990 when it was
1) Toa Payoh - Bishan St 11 (Loop), and
2) Bishan - Toa Payoh
before it was merged with SBS 150?

1- I can't find any guides stating route svc 56 from Toa Payoh - Bishan St 11 (Loop). so I assume during 1st intro, route is not highlighted anywhere. (Maybe busway?)
2- From BG 86 > Bishan East St 11*, Bishan Rd, Braddell Rd, Toa Payoh Access Rd*, TP Lor 4, Lor 6 & TP Int (Loop), TP Lor 6, Lor 4, TP Access Rd, Braddell Rd, Bishan Rd & Bishan East St 11.
From BG88-89 > Bishan Int, Bishan St 13, St 11 then same route as above...
It merged with svc 150 & svc 58 in 1989.
* Bishan East St 11 > Not sure if this road is present St 11 or St 13, most likely Bishan Terminal along Bishan St 13. Toa Payoh Access Rd is present Lor 6 Toa Payoh, after/before the Braddell Rd flyover to/from Toa Payoh.

Most likely it's because Bishan was still under development back then.
And according to Busway, SBS 56 was only merged with SBS 150 (the stretch from Toa Payoh to Beach Rd), and having it so close to Marina Centre they extended it to terminate there instead. SBS 58 was also withdrawn on the same day (2nd September 1990). Note that SBS 58 duplicates the current SBST 133.
Just wondering, what are the 'M' services (referring to M1 to M4) classified as?
Originally posted by starscream_07:While reading a few copies of 'Busway' of the early 80s edition @ NLB, I stumbled upon an article about the then new Hougang & Bedok North Depots. These new depots were built to replace a few older depots, one of them was Bedok Depot. A friend of mine told me that there was a bus depot at Upp Changi Rd 13.3km beside the terminal (Maybe combined with the terminal??) Was this probably the location of the Bedok Depot?
Another article I read on was about Somapah Bus Park. Where was it? When I was young, I remember seing a small depot along Upp Changi Rd East (Opp Simei Rd). Was that the Somapah bus park, or Somapah depot, or Somapah Interchange? I checked Street Directory '88, stating a bus terminal there...
Anybody, any explanations?
Refer to this article.
Somapah Interchange was opened in 1981. Located at the present-day Singapore Expo carpark (near the junction of Upp Changi Rd East and Upp Changi Rd), it used to house services terminating at Upp Changi Rd 15.5km (services 10, 11, 12, 14 and 155) and also functions as an interchange for Changi Airport services (services 392 and 393).
In 1983, with the introduction of the new SBS Changi Airport Bus Plan, services 392 and 393 were withdrawn and Somapah Interchange was downgraded to Somapah Terminal. By 1986, there were only four services terminating at Somapah Terminal, namely services 11, 12, 14 and 155.
With the closure of Somapah Terminal in 1989, service 11 was withdrawn and services 12, 14 and 155 were relocated to Pasir Ris, Changi Village and Marine Parade respectively.

- notes discussed in Somapah's context only*
- routes mentioned taken from Bus Guide 1982*
- express sectors are denoted in italics
Yes, I've read the article before. I can say the terminal was located near present Expo carpark near the junction of Upp Changi Rd East and Upp Changi Rd. Still remember seing a few fuel tanks in the terminal (after the entrance). In a certain article it is mentioned that the location was previously a bus depot of the pre-SBS era.

Probably M(RT) services, as they were short trips services going to the nearest MRT station of the area. Still remember svc M3 using Albion Vikings...

What is the route of SBS 191 when it was still a Ghim Moh - Portsdown Road services?
To Starscream, will you or someone (or I, provided you gave me the details) create a page about the routes of the services in these guides
1) At least 2 copies of guides in the older 1980s' bus guides
2) At least 2 copies of guides in Transitlink series (1992-1999)
in Sgwiki so that it is easier for us to refer to?

He is referring to the Exercise Northstar V in 2006 that happened at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, not Exercise Heartbeat Alpha.

Your ideas are good but I don't think I can do that due to my hectic lifestyle. However, I will try to give inputs to your requests whenever I'm free. Just pass me ur email addr thnx. Btw I wonder where the senior members of this topic (Yusry, Suhirman etc) have gone too, they may provide us with more good info... In fact, I'm also thinking of someone who can compile everything from this topic.

315A also with 167 after which it got transferred back to AMDEP and run around as SP on its final months before dereg in Aug 2001.
Originally posted by Gus.chong:What are the perms of services 124 & 131 when both were under HGDEP control?
600U was one of the buses which I can remember on 124. There were also NAC Volvo MK2 DM on 124 as well.
131 had NAC Merc 0405s and also Volvo MK4 under HGDEP.

This kind of OF1413 if I remembered correctly.
It was then replaced with Volvo B57 before the Scania N113CRBs took over.
