New tail lights on K230UB?

Just took SBS8149D (or something like that, can't really remember) on 27 and spotted that the rear lights were different from the standard ones. These new tail lights look like those "cool" aftermarket ones people go for. They consist of many colored LEDs per light and are housed in a transparent casing, unlike the default ones that look like they are housed in smoked and frosted casings. They are extremely bright too. I don't know if anyone else has spotted this. And the bus seems to be facing some retarder problems which make the bus roar when cruising or decelerating.

yea i also noticed tat it's rear tail lights were diff wen i saw it on 62 on saturday.Looks lik those Wright B9 type of tail lights.I didnt care much abt it since i thought mayb tat other kubs also using tat type of tail lights..but nw since u hav posted it,i tink tat its indeed diff lights from the current tail lights tat the other kubs r using.

Sorry, but I didn't manage to get a photo of it. I'll try to see if I catch any KUB with similar rear lights and hopefully capture a photo of it for you guys.

LED is good.. low voltage, low current req, yet bright and longer work life

True i use on the rear light of my bike and so far so good -
The LED lights fitted on the Scania KUB are failing, some of the blinkers only have a little portion of the LED light up, in some cases, totally failed.

The new LED lights casing as mentioned above by the TS looks lik frosted frm the outside..

No no no. What I meant was that the new ones are clear and transparent while the older ones are frosted and darkened (by soot or something else). The LEDs on the new ones are not arranged in a grid like the old ones but instead in a radial pattern.

I think I get what you mean after I saw the tail lights of the Wright B9TL today. But which depot is SBS8149D resides in???

HGDEP 27.i saw e bus ytd.
colour of tail lights casing is just a bit faded compared to e rest of e kubs, not white transparent casings as previously claimed.

I'm 100% sure it's not just faded. If you look at all the lights, they are totally different!

it's true, but to me, there's nothing much of a difference. -
It could be a different type of LED installed.
Off topic abit - An interior lamp blew above me yesterday onboard SMB72C at night towards Shenton Way. It just flickered then went off, rendering more of the bus in darkness. 6 sets of bulbs remain.
wonder if it's Gemilang or it's wiring quality issues or such.Some of the OC's LED are also blown. hmm -

Mm IMO, this would enhance the visibility of other road users, but not nice looking to my eyes.

So this is how it looks, but should be pretty useful although design wise is not that good.
Maybe should spot a few more someday.

Now is like becoming a trend, now almost all new cars have LED headlight and tail light just like the Audi A8. -

Hahaha... Not just the A8, but the trend should start from the R8.
But observe a number of K230s today. None have this new design yet... Maybe this is just a trial???

this is very true.compared to e usual ks, when rear lights are switched on (whether got brake lights applied or not)
all LED bulbs light up.

My favourite is those found on tail lights of 2010 BMW 523i. Not only is it led, but oso those nice neon look lights on top. Very cool. What r they?
