SMRT Buses to roll out full low floor buses from March

SMRT Buses will introduce 10 new full low-floor buses from March as part of its fleet renewal programme.
This follows positive feedback on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus, which was put on a six-month trial in March last year.
The majority of passengers agreed that the full low floor of the bus made it a safer ride for them.
Meanwhile, SMRT Buses has also put on trial two environmentally-friendly buses.
One is the first diesel-electric hybrid bus made by Chinese company, Zhong Tong.
The bus uses up to 30% less fuel and emits up to 30% less greenhouse gases, making travel on public transport even greener.
It will be on a six month trial from tomorrow on Service 106 first, before being put on Service 945 from April.
Another full low floor bus from German manufacturer, MAN, is undergoing a one year trial.-- 938Live

With their current absurb run time,The poor bus having tough time running here and there..Unlike SBST timetable which is definately better,No need to rush all the time.

the newer diesel-only buses tend to eat more fuel, their emission are environmentally friendly nia so higher bus fares please.
if not use this type of bus.

Provided they have some unfixable problems but have to keep a lookout for those that has been missing for a long time(so far none), might be on lay up status and if the 9 citaros come in either they transfer or lay some UDs up.

dun worry, the UDs will stay until 2012.. these Citaros should be fleet additions... they should transfer CSS196/204 out to WLDEP and deploy them....
