the issue w sv99 is mainly at jurong west ave 1, boon lay pl and jurong west st 91.
sv99 should be split to form two routes. issue is lack of capacity at int, LTA doesnt see the need to increase such infrastructure.

now with DBTF it is getting passengers to make transfers. affected passengers will be those on the clementi to jurong east sector but i'm afraid these have to be affected as the loading is not comparative to the other sectors and a likely solution would probably be amending another route to ply this sector.

not true
DBTF ought to be reducing tavelling time if transfers gives benefit not simply an exercise to remove all bus svs.
For any of these places, it's going to hamper 198, 240, 241 like siao. esp during peak hours.

no. the issue with sv99 is poor headway and adherence to running of trips simply due to its long route and bus bunching due to uneven loading. once one bus meets with a sudden heavy loading will spark a vicious cycle of bunch very long waiting time bunch very long waiting time bunch. as such, to provide passengers with reliable services, routes should be splitted up, although this means passengers would need to make transfers, it would improve on service reliability.

my suggestion will in fact improve the loadings of these abovementioned services. 240 has very bad loadings to begin with. my sv99 and 102 as above will improve lakeside-boon lay place-boon lay int loading issue.

There's some issues over Sv 99 tat I'm not going to mention it openly. Best kept within to those ppl who knows wat's going on.
1 issue tat I can mention openly abt Sv 99 is the student crowd. Delays because they simply refuse to move in.
I've ever say a close to total empty upper deck yet lower deck packed like sardines. That's where the delay comes from as bus entrance door can't close.
There's a clear cut of where the erratic headway comes from.
For those students, you split the bus route is not going to improve anything, and worst bus stop turnaround time might increase with more buses.
It's not condusive for either peak or off peak.
i think Sv 99 got downroute to jurong west st 91(i think) during weekdays morning. like 8am+ liddat. cannot be going back to bbdep as some of them is spotted at PIE between bt batok east ave 3 and jurong town hall rd(towards tuas) with destos fliped over.
No wonder i saw a kub training along Serangoon North Ave 5 yest..

these are most heavy demand sectors if i observed correctly.
for students studying in Boon Lay Sec: from Clementi > Jurong West Ave 4
for those in Fuhua/Hong Kah/Yuhua Sec: from Jurong West St 91 > Ave 1

As for Townlink, I dun think it's good to split it up just because of DBTF wo. Like tis add more prob on top of the hybird feeder svs like 3, 38, 60.
Sv 99 is like only serving the western sector, i dont see the need to split it up.
well if you insist the route should not be split up. extension from jurong west st 91 to soon lee would be ideal. simply because as a long loop svc, it is very likely to cause erratic headway. sv63 and 64 are other fine examples.

63 is simply because of transition & 63A. There's 21 mins headways slot.
64 is Jln Besar & Selegie Rd tat siao traffic light timing. For one time Plaza Sing car park queue as well.
Notice that crowd reduces when commuters alight at the mkt/coffee shop at Jurong West Ave 1...

many students are complaining abt it....but from what i saw at marine parade, it looks quite ok. The bus was rather crowded till marine terrace. Think SBST didnt advertise it enuf tough....some ppl were looking confused when 76 turned into marine cresent

Iris still show route 76 for the previous bus stops that the old 76 used to ply but without any timings...

Think it only affects the VJC students. So now all these are advertised by the bus companies or just LTA?
If it is LTA, I must say they are not doing enough admist taking over the planning.
VJC nia la
They've so many buses to Paya Lebar MRT or w/ their age walk to Marine Terr and take 76 lor.
Seriously by the time they walk to their bus stop, e dist is close to them walking to CHIJ Katong bus stop le.

were there those cardboards hung with cable tie?
or the mini A5 notice on the bus stop pole???
Originally posted by SBS3688Y:I find the routes of sv 112 & 325 not so efficient. anyone with better ideas to re-route them?
why not this
101 plies Hougang St 51 to and fro, covering 325's feedering link to Hougang MRT Stn from Hougang North.
Rationalise 112, 113 & 325 altogether.
112: Hougang Ctrl, Ave 10, Ave 6, Ave 8, St 51, Ave 4, Buangkok Green, Hougang St 93, St 91, Ave 9, Ave 4, Ave 10, Ave 2, Upp S'goon Rd, Hougang St 21, Ave 1, Lor Ah Soo, Hougang St 11, Upp Paya Lebar Rd (Loop)
113: Hougang Ctrl, Upp S'goon Rd, Hougang Ave 7, Tampines Rd, Hougang St 21, Upp S'goon Rd, Hougang Ave 2, Ave 8, Ave 4, Buangkok Medical Park (Loop)
325: Hougang Ctrl, Upp S'goon Rd, Hougang Ave 2, Ave 10, Ave 4, Buangkok Medical Park.
**Ave 2 (Blks 713 - 720) would need feeder sv from Hougang.
Some parts of Ave 8 would cease to have quick, direct bus services to Kovan. St 92 bus stops seem to be redundant today.

I didn't notice that, maybe someone can check it out. I don't even know who made that 315 banner in the other thread. Is the banner done by SBST or by LTA on behalf of SBST?
But I find the distance fare ad at the bus stop pole hard to read and basically small on A5 sized board.

I think they can extend 181 to serve Jurong West St 91 and 92 areas before going to its original route to St 23 onwards and extend to Jurong East interchange.
