Took a DAF recently on a wet weather day.
I realised whenever the bus brakes to a halt, there's skidding w/o fail. It's worst at DTL worksite stretches (metallic road, lesser grip).
The skid is super obvious, the bus would swerve to the right or left.
Its not a matter of the bus but the tyres itself. The cheaper they're the lesser the grip and for this case i suspect Gajah Tunggal brand which has been rethread before,Even SBST doin that the most 2x..For SMRT there are 2 brands,Michelin & Gajah Tunggal,SBST Bridgestone
Haha gaja tunggal??Nvr heard of such a brand name b4 sia....Is it a Malaysian brand??

In short form GT Radial made in Indonesia.Frankly its nothing to do with SPH,Its the new management headed by a few Uni grad who only think budget with the expense of safety

oo i c.
Seriously KJ only maintain their bendies well,While AM give priority to their Lance and WL good in their O405s
got one time i took a leyland on 154, the bus would swerve to the left or right. i thought the bus driver fell asleep while driving. lol

I personally feel that DAF have a strong brake biting point. Even with Continental HSU tire (which i presume is an expensive brand) it can still skid without proper braking. Infact whenever i take DAF on a rainy day, chances are 20% of the time i encountered skidding.

If a vehicle swerve to the left or right when braking, the brake pads on either side is probably more worn out. This also means that the braking horsepower is higher on one side. In such situations, the vehicle will immediately fail a vehicle inspection test.
Very dangerous because if the driver does a emergency brake, the vehicle can swerve into another lane and into another vehicle.
Dry weather braking quite bad.
Shaking

What the LO3X offers:
1. Prone to skidding on rainy days. Like the VO3X.
2. Noisy brakes.
3. Not as well-maintained in general when compared to the VO3X Batch 1 which isn't too far off in age.
4. Smoke. Loads of it.
5. Smells of dubious origins. I haven't quite figured out the stink at the lower deck in many rides.
6. Aircon (the lack of it).
7. The most irritating: Misaligned tag axle. After certain speed, the bus starts to vibrate intensely and in more jialat cases, you get BONK BONK BONK sounds coming from below.

Altho the poor aircon is quite a put off, but somehow i looked forward taking a LO3x than a 1st batch VO3x. Encountered many times on a 1st batch VO3s whereby the front axle vibrates horribly when the bus is moving. And i personally feel that LO3x is quieter and smoother than most VO3x in terms of engine noise level and performance. Personal opinion. Even my gf told me she thought she boarded an euro 5 DD when she boarded one LO3x.

i dun think that was during rainy weather. leylands are more stable compared to volvo olympians in rainy weather, you can ask anyone who has driven both.
the most precariously prone to skidding is the B10Ms. u need to learn how to cotnrol the brakes. you'll notice drivers apply let go apply let go of brakes whenever they wanna stop in rainy weather.

yeah, it was not raining that day. somehow that particular leyland i took on 154 was rather unstable, keep swerving to the right or left.
How about kub? ok tat a random one :S
I personally find the LO3X better compared to VO3X... Well, Leyland is already history...
LO3X better than VO3X... if volvo hadn't bought over Leyland.....
