Who wants fare stages back?
actually distance fare is sound, you can't be expecting to have direct bus svs everywhere.
That said, what needs to be worked out is whether to refine the distances further by using culmulative coupled distance for buses.
The error of margin right now is ridiculously high

Thats y i want fare stages!
Nah... Distance fares or stage fares don't matter to me.... Using BCP.
No... I love distance-based fare...
Take u three dollars and pay u one dollars.
And nothing happen to me.
So, what can u do if the cheng hu also tiam tiam ?
You want me to go bankrupt ?
distance fare is good if it is real distance and not the distance the bus forces you to take by making big rounds...
no.

seriously define it
So the bus gotta make a round because of road constrain so how? Like the road network in Toa Payoh, it's a circular round.
is there a triangular round?

So is it the commuters problem if the farking roads in farking toa payoh are farking round?

old fare stage system tried not to penalise them. But since LTA took over, they told me need to charge like taxi in distance.
also, in tis case, LTA is the real one tat created e mess..
Like tat 182's case, old fare stage reflected as 4 fare stage ~ 3.2km, same as the 'actual' 3.4km
as if everything is bus co fault when it's e farking planning fault

You're arguing semantics. you should probably know what I'm talking about. Those bus services that go through extra routes to reach the bus stop that you want instead of taking the most possible route.
e.g. number 8 from safra tampines to tampines interchange. the distance calculated currently is how far the bus travels which includes all the extra small alleys it travels to instead of the shortest main route to the interchange. For someone wanting to just go to the interchange, you're screwed twice over. first for the extra time wasted and 2nd for the extra fare you pay (I'm actually not sure if this particular case increases the fare but the principle applies)
Everything has pros and cons........
no
i also dun give a dam

Sv 8 was rationalised when TP opened. It was a direct journey to Bedok Reservoir Rd prior to 1995.
But the thing is, if one bus sv dun rationalise in tis manner, how is the ppl at TP going to take e bus? Have a feeder and get e crowd to mob SAFRA Tampines bus stop?
Furthermore, if you're at SAFRA Tampines there's Sv 23 and somemore there's bus sv info panel installed alrdy if it's to Int. Sv 59 to Toa Payoh.
I like distance fares and I think is very fair. Having travelled to some other countries I still find our local distance fares the best and the transport fares still reasonable. Not everyone will benefit but I believe majority still benefits. Distance fares have in fact helped me saved on some travel costs and I'm now more flexible to transfer buses to get to my destination in a shorter time and at the same costs.
