For me, I m not affected since I m using HCP (Hybrid Concession Pass). So dont need to worry about transfering and getting the shortest dintance. My family also not affected because using the ezlink season pass. Even if I m not using ezlink also I will just pay so that I can just enjoy a direct bus ride.
So, does distance fare change change the way you travel? Do you check the distance fare calculator before you travel? Do you make transfer to get the benefit of distance fare or you rather pay more so that you dont need to make a lot of transfers?
not me oso..
using an adult card that produces double beeps..
double beeps for adult card?
yes it has changed for me. previously cannot transfer much due to transfer rebate being the only motivation but it was still too pricey.
with distance-based fares, i don't have to wait for that direct service that comes every 18mins on sunday nights or so on and so forth.
i take the 1st service that comes to bring me somewhere, alight, take another one to reach my final destination. it's definitely much faster... and for the same price.
It has taught me to avoid certain MRT lines as much as possible.
I've always been the type to pay whatever price they want. Higher price, higher I have to pay.
Although when they say distance fare, I seriously thought they had internal distance measurement instead of using a set-based distance count. So, if the bus took a shortcut, I still have to pay the same as if it didn't and vice versa.
It has always been my idea that public transport companies employ the term "If you cannot convince, confuse" to much succession.
