  When is Nex due to open? It seems some shops already paid their rent in advance but not allowed to begin trading yet.

  It's already open and it's a big mall. And the crowds are already flooding there almost everyday. Entrance to the bus interchange is via B1.

  Not sure, from the shopping mall's view, it was totally closed from the metal gatings.

  Maybe there are still touch up works going on.

  those shops and coffeeshops next to the current old interchange is bound to lose lots of business once the interchange is relocated to the new one.

  the carpark above the interchange... on weekends.. got <50 cars is very very rare liao..

  now. its Carpark FULL 
  
  Interchange also not much people there. just a dumping ground for slaughtered services..
  no proper market, no hawker centre, even UOB and OCBC closed their branches..

  probably cos of NEX... but tat also means tat the services at serangoon will have higher loads maybe some major jam will start appearing soon

  thats why the interchange isnt open yet. all these crowds are artificially inflated crowds, here for the novelty.
  
  give it till March, we will see the actual crowds. Then the new interchange will be good to open. And maybe, there will be some consolidation of the slaughterd services
  Hope the planners wont make another once-in-50-years mistake for the interchange entrance

  looks like the new Serangoon interchange design is similar to Sengkang. I wonder if there will be a repeat of the poor ventilation problem again. otherwise, SBST is going to pay hefty electric bills for the mechanical ventilation.
