Actually i prefer they rationalise. Routes in Serangoon getting a bit messy, full of duplications. I rather they have a few services with better frequencies, and serve better coverage.

Same thinking. Look at 103 for example. From Serangoon all the way to YCK, there's alreardy route covered by 43, 70, 76, 109, 147 and 315. SBST can consider re-route 103 or even to merge with 315 to enhanced the frequency.
My 2 cents thought only.
Cheers.

I am personally quite lost when I reach Serangoon, despite being a bus fan.

because 103 used to be a city bound route.
315 dun really serve Yio Chu Kang Rd except for S'goon Nth tat only bus stop.
76 uses Boundary Rd.

Come more often, ha ha. :)

103 serves Boundary Rd too, except that 76 comes from Paya Lebar Rd whereas 103 from Upp Serangoon Rd. What I mean was since a few services already plying almost same route as 103, might as well merge with 315 to enhance the route. :)
Cheers.
IMO, for me, living near SGN. 103's pretty much important to me. Okay la my 2 cents worth.
103 serves as a link from SGN to Jln Kayu, and also workers that want to enter Seletar Aerospace Park. Always see full pax on 103M during AM Peak. Also, those who want to head towards YCK Rd, dont really take 147 from SGN Stn cos they have to walk to the bus stop at Upp Sgn Rd. Usually PM Peak 70/43 is full. 103 alleviates the situation. 109 might help a bit, seeing crowds increase for it now. 76 doesnt really interfere in anything, goes up towards Yck Rd and turns down to Amk Ave 3.
Plus, one can take 103 to Jln Kayu and transfer to 858 for a faster way to CGA, instead of 53 all the way from SGN.
Cheers.

I agree with that. Feel that there are a number of so-called duplicate routes along Upp Paya Lebar corridors. For example, services 22, 24, 43, 58, 70, 76 are among those. Adding on to CCL that runs underneath too. Perhaps one of these services could have been amended to ply along Serangoon Ave 1 and Bartley Road instead.

I feel that taking MRT CCL/EWL from Serangoon to Changi Airport is still the best way. Taking 103/103M to Jalan Kayu and transfer to 858 does't really make much difference compare to taking service 53 direct.

ok, 103 is there because they want to let ppl have transfer ease to svs at Upp S'goon.
They can't merge 103 & 315 because those who're heading to Seletar will bear the burn.
Seriously all these reflect something
Those svs that runs within e Towns (Like for S'goon's case since there's S'goon Gardens Estate) or New Towns, leave intra town for feeders to serve. They can run till e last MRT timing as well.
Trunk buses leave it for those long distance travellers.
Heard the layout is almost the same as Sengkang's one.
more likely BNL
a bend before traffic junction.
potential trap for delayed departure out of int. It's alrdy going on at BNL
BNL really is a very good example is shoddy quality work by the ones i/c
now the serangoon ave 2 is facing some slow moving traffic most of the time..
its the direction > ECT for the case of svc 45..
2 lanes now becoming 1 lane passable..

It doesnt make a difference when u are heading East. But it makes a difference when u are travelling north.
Ppl who take 103 are usually those staying along Yio Chu Kang Rd going twrds Woodlands area.
Based on my obeservation for the past few years, a majority of the pax also comes from Fernvale. They would usually take 103 and transfer to NEL at Serangoon MRT. Believe it or nt. lols.
The traffic light timing is alrdy programmed to allow the right turning of buses into e int. Just tat arrow dun appear nia.
To shift in mid'11
Zaobao article today reported abt HDB's plans to redevelop the bus int
Interchange work in progress

Have to agree. 103M also has enhanced its frequency to cater for the Seletar Aerospace commuters, which have pretty heavy loadings during A/P peaks. Just hoping 105 and 315 doesnt skip Boundary Rd- instead go one big round past the old Int, before resuming normal route.
But the roads at Sgn Ctrl, the ones leading from Upp Sgn down towards Yck Rd(Sgn Ctrl); were pretty jammed at about 7pm. 2 lanes, one lane occupied by cars turning into the car park, buses like 81 and 82 had problems trying to turn into the old interchange. With that, buses like 147 and 70 had problems using the one lane left to squeeze past the mayhem.

Being a resident in Serangoon Nth area, SV 103/103M plays a major part for ppl to transfer directly @ Jln Kayu to go either East or North.
From my experience, SV 53 to SRG & SV 858> SV 103 to SRG are same. But SV 858 will chiong on expway, which is the best part.
SV 103 route serves as a good linkage to jln kayu for direct xfer to SV 168 to go straight w'land & other services to go Yishun, Sembawang, Chongpang and so on.
Just 2 cent worth of thought, no matter wad the rationalisation of services will be done asap by first quarter of next year. So all we can do is wait & see the service changes.
Hopefully new services is introduced to involve linkage, but imo, the new interchange is really damn small!
The jam so far can be controlled by traffic light adjustment.
For S'goon Ctrl is wat I've mentioned abt C'wealth Ave West & Clementi Rd eons ago. Since the no of vehicles turning are in fact close to or equal to the no of cars proceeding straight.
I wonder if there is any bendy lots at the int... XD

why would there be bendy lots in an SBST controlled int?
