New Serangoon Bus Interchange

  Exposed to e public riao.

  LTA is planning to house the S'goon Ave 2 bus stop pair Blk 334/ Opp Blk 334 into a bus bay.

  As for the bus interchange, it's likely to see left turning into interchange (no pedestrain crossing, overhead bridge built).

  Wun be surprised tat there's right turning in lieu of the bus stop bay built.

  I pity those residents living in blocks 330 to 335. Going to be crowded and noisy in future, especially with the new shopping mall.

  I think e shopping mall will only be up in December

  Novemeber think difficult riao unless fitting works for indv shops are ongoing together.

  Think fastest would be the week before school starts

  if I take svc 45, sure got pass by the new shopping mall..

  Bus Int door still not installed, basement 3 still not ready yet.

  Bus stop bay not done yet, outside road still on works.

  Overhead bridge almost complete le.

  Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

  Sgoon Avenue 2 seems like a small road. If the Nex Mall is a bus interchange, wouldn't

  • there be a jam if many buses were to queue up to enter the interchange? (but come to think of it, the current bus interchange outside also 2-lane on each side)
  • all the buses have to be re-routed to the new interchange?

  Serangoon Ave 2 has 2 lanes on each side. Traffic generally not very heavy.... most services in Serangoon has poor/average frequencies anyway, and many services dont get much boarding activites there.. like 81 82 101 103 ie. those affected by NEL in 2004

  I fully agree with you. 105 goes through Boundary Rd and turns into S'goon Ave 2... If the new interchange is there then it'll be very difficult.

  It's also the traffic flow.

  You do have Sv 45, 58, 133, 135 using S'goon Ave 2 as well. Their combi AM peak trips is 23 trips (towards Lor Chuan), (24 towards Upp S'goon Rd).

  What I've been thinking of is this:

  Sv 81, 82, 103: Straight from Upp S'goon Rd into S'goon Ave 2, bypass S'goon Ctrl totally.

  Sv 105, 315: Like what you mentioned, make a detour.

  Sv 100: Maybe make a detour via town centre first.

  As for Sv 101, 109, 158 & 317 can't think of anything yet.

  dun think it's viable

  town centre no linkage, then no access pt to NEL to town.

  I take it tat NEL takes priority over CCL as it goes to main parts of CBD

  comes to berthing issue

  3 boarding berths and there's 81, 82, 100, 101, 103, 103M, 105, 109, 158, 315, 317.

  So let's put it

  Gp 1: 100, 101, 317. Approx 22 trips.

  Gp 2: 81, 105, 103, 103M. Approx 21 trips.

  Gp 3: 82, 109, 158, 315. Approx 23 trips.

  Turnaround time gotta be within 2.5 mins wo

  If i'm not wrong it's opening next year january i think so with Clementi..Clementi also almost done.
