Service 138 and 135 gets Volvo B10Ms on 01/11/10

  Today is not only the first day that the Wright Volvo B9TLs are out on the roads, but also another surprise for bus fans and commuters.

  Volvo B10M MK4s on services 138 and 135 and they use rectangular side destos. Seems that they might be perm buses in future. Finally after years of waiting, service 138 finally gets some newer buses which are newer then the Mercedes Benz O405s.

  Today:

  Service 138

  - SBS882Y

  - SBS911Y

  - SBS1916C

  Service 135

  - SBS967L

  - SBS977H

   

  But also does that mean that more O405s are pharsing out soon???

  So what mass redeployment of buses is happening now for Ang Mo Kio depot???

  Good news to some, sad news to others. :)

  Was expecting 138 to get KUBs instead. Maybe Citaro would appear 1st on 138?

  Don't think so since Citaros are replacing the MK3s.

  Unless Ang Mo Kio is the first to receive the Citaros.

  these MK IV are not new.. they are 15 years right now.. consider old... there seem to be problem in deploying KUB on Sv138, therefore they have to deploy MK IV instead, and Sv 135 also got the MK IV due to the crossover to Sv138..

  the O405 will be gone by next june no matter what..

  there sure be some deployment here and there and i believe that each depot will get some Citaros.. but it remain to be seen whether Citaros will be deployed on Sv138. guess there are some issue on the road condition over at the zoo there?

  Well, finally some newer old buses for 138, although the MK4s are not new already. Will try them one day.

  Only SBS537U remains on 135 that is the O405s.

  saw SBS1916C on 138 on 1 Nov before seeing this topic, I was shocked and wanted to photograph it but i was using my handphone camera and it was too dark to see the bus.

  There is only one perm full day bus yesterday on 138 and the bus is SBS882Y.
  
  The rest are probably S Shift or crossover from 135.
  
  So if you wanna camp, you might wait 1 hour plus for the bus.

  during PM S shift, it is more easier to camp for mk4s on sv138.

  the only problem lies with it's eds- it's somehow bugged, if not, 138 would have gotten KUB months ago... It's nice seeing 138 with rectangular desto(MK IV) than EDS(KUB) thou

  I think the B10Ms can't cope with the crowd for the factory workers for peak periods, maybe that's why SBST put DDs for JIS services since the late 1990s.

  Last time I remembered they use those Soon Chow Mercedes Benz OF1413s.
