Local ones won't dare to speed, At most they do OS thats all from the original interchange.
But china ones I don't dare to guarantee.

Most probably licence revoked though.

Result? Sudden spike in passengers waiting at BNL + the problem at platform escalator. Train arriving though escalator still w/ like 100 commuters.
actually the schedules of employee buses can be quite tight. drivers also tend to want to clear their trips faster since they can have more break time.
Not just SBS bus drivers are from China.
There is growing nos of garbage truck drivers from China.
Ppl should also be careful of garbage trucks while crossing the road.
Saw these garbage truck speed demons before.

Esp those ****** and *********** drivers too.
Maybe they defuse the speed limiter.
SembCorp should have automatic transmission garbage trucks like buses.
prevents them from speeding
sorry for off topic
cheers. :D

a local driven one,(last bus) I almost missed my bus home though.
dun understand why you keep pointing fingers to the Chinese nationals/BC? are you sure most of the singaporeans BC/driver dun have the guts to speed? U take China BC bus and it let you go home fast, you complain. You take singaporean's BC bus and you miss your bus you also complain.... if scare miss bus then DUN TAKE LAST BUS.

For your information, for vocational related vehicles, there are rarely automatic transmission vehicles with a notable exception is omnibuses (Public buses).
BTW, the reason for it is:
1: Automatic tranmission ones generally consumes more fuel due to unnecessary / inefficient mechanism in the gearing
2: Old vehicles. Last time already very rare to see one such.
3: Afterall, all vocational license requires Class 3 and not 3A before you can even think of it. Yes, including intentions to drive an automatic transmission Taxis. It can be found on SPF / TP website.
Oh well, a bonus tip:
No, whether is it automatic or manual transmission, it wont matter for speeding issues so long as the limiter is installed and in working condition. I saw service 985, can chiong like 65km/h which is damn shiok on PIE.

The limiter doesnt actually limit the speed, but simply warns the driver with beeps when exceeding the speed limit.
situpi chenea man why comen he re kill pll sgo to the chaina to kjill la why come to xikngapura to kill opl

There is. The older Euro2/3 Fuso trucks with fixed body came with Allison auto gearbox. Most Isuzus do as well.
The newer Mercedes Benz Actros came with Telligent semi-automatic gearbox.

I beg to differ. Try taking NR services. I'm not sure if the driver was a malaysian or a local, but he was well running above 70km/h on PIE/BKE on NR3 and drives on corners at HIGH SPEED. I can assure you guys he aint a chinese national.
Instead, i enjoy taking buses driven by most chinese nationals. Altho they drive fast, they are confident but not too over. A well known racer once said "its not always trusting your own skills when it comes to racing(in this case its driving), sometimes you have to trust the vehicle your having your hands on."

No wonder I had seen buses travelling at around 65km/h in expressway. (The speedometer shows almost hitting 70km/h but as a passenger view, it might be an error and hence I factored it to 65kph)

tat's SWD for light goods vehicle.
speed limiter will limit the speed once it hits abv e calibrated speed.
the tendency to purchase manual transmission is due to torque/ power and cost of maintenance.

The 59 yr old driver is a Singaporean Chinese driver. The bus he drove was "WT 13", which his job is to pickup other SMRT drivers to the bus depot. What shocking is that after he brought back the damaged bus to the bus depot, he told the controllers that, he bang a tree and requested a bus switch, as he still have another 2nd wave to pick up the SMRT drivers.
And another unconfirmed news is that, my dad says there's 2 casualties died in this accident. Apparently my daddy heard about it from his fellow SMRT colleagues...
this term do no limited to our true blue singaporean only, it can also apply to new citizen from china as well, conveninetly put in as Singaporean Chinese..
Not just the driver's fault alone, the company must be heavily fined for their poor management of their drivers.
LTA should seriously look into making speed limiters mandatory for all public buses in Singapore, so that they will not speed beyond 60km/h. Those buses which had their speed limiters meddled with would be fined heavily individually by LTA to the bus company. Like this, there won't be such accidents and innocent lives taken away just like that in future.

What I've shared in my general experience take it or leave it.
I don't mind walking to my home, Like I said if i miss my bus I just walk home that's all, afterall I live in SBST-infested areas. I got complain or not when I say local? I just want to share my experience (compare the diff/standards)that's all.

For expressway like BKE/PIE going at above 70kmh (below 90) don't seem to be an issue, So long they don't go over the limit (of the exp. way).

Malaysians are mostly good at chionging. especially on NR.

expressway or not, bus speed limit is 60kph (lower if road speed limit is 40/ 50kph).

If that is the case, then they should review the break time.
And not squeeze them to have more additional trips on the road.
Where life is concern, they MUST review this or else it going to wait for another accident to happen again.
give them more breaks and profits for SMRTB drops, then how to finance their pet MRT railway expenses?
the root stems from the greed of upper echelons of SMRT in whole.

im srsly interested to hear wad is the link between this driver's inhumane behaviour n smrt's role in "poor mgmt of drivers".
u mean the company control drivers wad to do during an accident? standard protocol is to run away arh? lol... biggest and stupidest joke of the century ahahaha.
im also interested to knw whr u get the info from the news reporting tis accident that the bus was overspeeding and wad link it has got to do with this accident and lta makin speedos limited to 60.
