Why not enough bell? If she was in a rush hour peak buses, where the bus was full, I bet she can at least press till at least 1 bell...

er... you make it sound like the overloading problem is confined strictly to sbst alone?

its not about insufficient bell pushes, its about inappropriate positioning of these bell pushes. if u notice the interior of the SMRT OC500LEs properly, you will realise that the vertical handgrips on the raised section do not have any bell pushes at all. assuming the passenger is standing along the aisle and the bus is packed, how is he/she going to get to the nearest bell push which is on a window pillar? wriggle her arm around a whole busload of standing passengers and try to locate the nearest window pillar?
the bell pushes on the window pillar are a convenience to seated passengers, but not for standees.

Strongly agree.
Especially the WA MKIVs and the DM3500s. Not so much the MKIV DMs....except maybe the Voith 4-speed ones (personal favourite)!

do you know where are e bells in e first place?
Originally posted by TIB1051D:too bad for that auntie to ride on a Batch 1 OC. too bad that she is not quick enough to look around for bus stopping bell to press. must be the type of last minute then press bell people. still dare complain.
if you are standing, how are you going to get.. it's unless you ask ppl to help u to press.
It sounds as if those bell 'lines' are installed onto e OCs

there are pockets of places served by SBS tat really has loading problem i.e. Sv 5, 139 but I believe all these can be solved bit by bit. I've also been noticing some non QoS svs been getting crowded on some trips as well like Express 506.
But still, tat said commuters still must play a part in moving in as far as possible. 1st thing the buses can close e entrance door smoothly and literally travel faster.

True..
I do agree that certain services have loading problems at times.
But at least they are trying to do things to improve the situation.
etc. adding more DDs or SWTs for the services.
Unlike certain company who give excuses like "Becuase there is alrdy a SWT for that particular service so its not possible to provide another SWT."

Nid to schedule properly ma. Seems from replies I got, they're very scared of rescheduling buses or MRT one if demand changes.

I dunno la
Days back over dwell time, tell me cannot, die die train must depart once alarm sounds off tat it's over dwell time.
seriously, sometimes door open, immediately buzzer n 2nd one sounds off, ppl can't even board. Snowball effect, next train lagi more ppl waiting.
They didn't schedule properly, suspect even w/ e slow down due to unwelded parts at JEMP, they did not make a new one in lieu of new condition.
These days one would notice 5 - 1 - 1 pattern at Boon Lay during am peak.
As for buses, think is didn't factor in traffic and indv bus stop condition.

I agree with the last point.
Ite pretty obvious from all the tight schedules that u can see from most of their trunk services.
