For consecutive 2 days, I had given up in waiting for SMRT 970 at Commonwealth MRT (towards Clementi). I intend to take SMRT 970 to Holland Avenue but ended up taking SBST 32 or 145 to Holland Drive..
On 24 Sep, I had waited for up to 20 minutes. And on 25 Sep, I had waited for 15 minutes. On both instances I waited for SMRT 970 at about 1900h.
I urged PTC to monitor on trip performance for SMRT 970, and hope SBST will consider plying a connecting service linking between Commonwealth MRT and Holland Road.
i think its the chinatown part of the route that delays everything. or maybe the route's really too long.
I seriously doubt problem lies on the route being too long. SBST 32 departs from Bedok and SBST 145 from Toa Payoh, and both services call at the same bus stop fairly regularly.
And I had taken SMRT970 from Eu Tong Sen Road. And had never encountered jams along it's way to Holland Road.
I suspect SMRT did not have sufficient resources SMRT 970 rather.

cuz of F1, everyone is entering CBD via the 970 way and getting out by the same way too. so jams at that area lor. so what do you think caused the delays?
I was on my way to The Central yesterday and Eu Tong Sen Rd was badly congested. Even CTE exit to Havelock Rd was jammed.
Cheers.
maybe ... because I did not get to see any SBST 147 while waiting for SMRT 970 during that time frame.
however my waits for SMRT970 were never pleasant.
970 is not the only service being affected badly. There is alot of of other services as well. E.g. Just now, sv 10 had to be delayed at Tampines Int for 25 mins due to F1(Info from 8533C).
So, just be patient or take another bus

One of 147 was also seen exiting Havelock Rd exit and turn left into Eu Tong Sen yesterday. Did not get to see the rego.
Cheers.
Chinatown services are badly affected as they now share the same road with Shenton Way services.
Previously when there is a comex show in Suntec, I should given up waiting for SMRT106. Now where there is a Formula 1, I should given up waiting for SMRT 970 too. Shouldn't SMRT anticipate that worsen road conditions, and formulate some contigency plans ahead?
If problems were already observed in day 1 of F1, why they continue to let the buses stuck in the jams for the second and third days?
i will be worried if buses come on time....
