It sounds and goes like a manual because the gearbox is basically a synchro-meshed gearbox but with automated gear-ratio shifting.
Additionally, there is a clutch between the engine and electric motor.
LOL I took it in the morning! At around 6:20am while going to school..
According to The New Paper today, SMRT Buses will be putting 2 environmentally-friendly buses which consumes 30% less fuel on a 6 month trial. One will ply service 106 from today and the other will be put onto service 945 from April. I think there is a mistake in the reporting.
They should be referring to the Zhongtong which will ply 106 first and then 945 from April.

sorry deleted. paiseh =X
They wont get to experience all problems of MIC buses unless they trial them for more than two years....
I was very surprised when I took a 20-year-old used original made-in-Japan(Fuso) coach in Indo, it was so quiet and smooth, almost no engine vibration, and the interior still in good condition. When I came back to Singapore, a YuTong came and pick my class, it was equally surprised that a new YuTong have already had its leather seats and interior faded, and it cruises with strong vibration from engine
But all of us should accept the truth that China has its advantage of economy of scale.. so even those bus higher-quality manufacturer in Europe struggle to keep their market share when there is more Kinglongs on their highway. AND WE SHOULD MENTALLY PREPARED TO ACCEPT MORE LOW QUALITY BUSES AND COACHES IN THE FUTURE AS INFLATION IS CONSTANTLY HAPPENING!
I am a Taiwanese, I miss those MAN and Mercedes coaches which used to appear, especially when I see more cheap Daewoo and Kinglong on the street in Taipei.

Wow! Nice and better interior than SMB135E. The rear also doesn't look like it's as slopy as the OCs and KUBs.

It also features LED-like interior lighting (the ones similar to refurbished DAFs/Scania Striders), and it uses Alcoa rims it seems.
