But it is SMRT's choice, Not ours, too bad it has to go :(
WLDEP don't intend to take in new buses at the moment though.
it's better looking than the yutong. moments like this make me ponder if one day majority of buses will become MIC.
Alot of private companies these days are purchasing Higer , Kinglong , Foton & Sunlong buses ... if you notice . esp alot of Kinglong buses on the roads these days ...
so its not a surprise that sbs or smrt decide to buy them .. king long is not bad IMO . . and my observation is that it comes with tinted windows. have riden on a kinglong before. quiet engine ..
there are a few kinglong SDs roaming around for certain companies .. with EDS too ..
pls change topic name to SMRT trials King Long Hybrid bus.

SMRT never aquirred a Zhongtong, only a King Long.

King Long would be SMB137A. Source(of it being a SMRT buses) is the link you had given in the previous post. For Zhongtong, it would be either SMB138Y(source is the picture) or after the Citaro. SMB135E is now in the mist of deciding to stay or to leave. If the bus leaves, touchwood, SMB135E will not be used for other buses.

from wat i see:
1) The exit door is not the plug/swing out type.
2) 2 PIW are..
3) Plastic handles.
4) Obviously, some new type of seats probably by King Long (or maybe Zhongtong).
5) Sooo many bells.
6) Bus stopping lights is a "STOP" instead of "BUS STOPPING".
7) Mildly tinted windows.
8) Doesn't have the 4 seats facing each other
*9) More legroom.
10) 30 seats.
11) Seats are blue and red in colour.
12) A clock
*Can't really confirm
Looking at the door handles and front seating arrangement of both photos, it's an easy conclusion that we're getting BOTH King Long Hybrid and Zhongtong...

The Ez-link card handle already standing by.... So KingLong + ZhongTong - Yutong = in the future?

Mixture of OC500LE, Yutong and Citaro body.
OMG
SBS in 2008 - Scania KUB craze
S'pore in 2009/10 - MIC Buses CRAZE!!!!
It is quite obvious the photos on the first post of this thread is not a King Long. The badge at the front and rear of the bus is way different from how a King Long logo looks.
ok, it's a Zhongtong all right. looked at their website
n its great that SMRT chose mobitec/LAWO for their EDS, not like the Yutong

I can reconise the badge, it is zongtong! it should be this one, sunny http://www.zhongtongbuses.com/sunny-9.html
