It is. Its packed to the doors... cant board at that bus stop sometimes....
Try it between 7am - 730am in the morning... you cant board it... The bus is almost empty from Marina Centre to Upper Bukit Timah Road... but it is full once it hits the Bukit Panjang Plaza bus stop...
When it hits the Blk 270 bus stop where the transport minister took 960, it is filled to the doors... Sometimes you cant board.
The Blk 270 bus stop a lot of people cant board services 171, 190, 960... Esp 960.
187, 963 and 966 less crowded as there are too many options to go to Woodlands....
Why 171 is a peak hour service from Bukit Panjang to Yishun ...
Bukit Batok West --> 187 >>> 171
Teck Whye --> 190 / 975 >>> 171
Hillview / Bukit Batok East --> 963 / 970 >>> 171
To get to Yishun / Thomson / Ang Mo Kio / Sembawang

It might be faster than MRT train I think.
Once 171 enters BKE, reaching Yishun will be faster (provided no jam at Chong Pang City Area) but need to clear 2 traffic lights at Mandai area and the rest of traffic lights at Sembawang Road/ Yishun Area.

Yup... Thats why those living in Bukit Batok West take 187 to change to 171 (Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Thomson), 190 (Orchard/Chinatown), 700 (Orchard, Marina, Shenton Way), 960 (Bugis/Marina).
Lol election gimmicks. Just like any other politician. They start getting attention when the elections draw near and stay dormant after they get elected.
nice joke for the day
they like to lie to themselves
lucky they didnt got SMRT send empty bus and they photograph minister sitting in empty bus

Take MRT take MRT take MRT take MRT.

Nowadays I think MRT slightly better because they increase frequency to cater for upcoming GE.
At least they take the effort to make lesser mortals feel happy for afew months for those 5 years in power.
With so many ppl onboard, its more like they are trying to add load onto the alrdy very packed service.

The maximum load point for Service 171 during AM Peak is not at that bus stop.
It might be packed due to the frequency/reliability of the service but the loads for that direction did not exceed the other direction which is towards Marina Centre.
171 freq at orchard too much le, even saturays too, 40 min for marina direction... what kind of shit?
If you can't get on the first bus, wait for the second bus, if you can't get on the second bus wait for the third, .......................................
They try to take the sting out of crowded MRT carriages by using Dim Sum Dollies to tell you to "love your ride".
Poor DSD.
Made to become propoganda mouthpieces for the people at the top.
That's probably to tekan them for all the times they poked fun of the people at the top during their performances.

QoS only applies to e peak direction as long as e non peak direction does not have overloading.

So, did both DSD and PCK manage to earn more money after publicizing the campaign? Or did they do so in voluntary without getting any pay after that?
Here is a fantastic job done.

The picture used in the notice looked real familiar... machiam snapped when B9s first came out on 21 4 years ago..
Transport Minister...can I suggest something?
Actually what you do, taking a bus etc...is already proactive by the bus company and your man.
What you really need is go by yurself without telling the bus operators and your man. Only then you will be able to tell the truth colour.
What you do now cannot really tell you the story, machiam yellow colour, you see brown colour.
Dear commoners,
It is impossible that I will be taking a bus or MRT without informing the company.
By doing that, I am open to all possible harm, which, in term, will incur more tax players money if they need to play for my medical fees.
With the press report, it served as a evidence that I have shown sincere concerns to walk the ground and understand the real situation.
By informing the respective company, they can prepare themselves to address any queries that I will raise to improve the service standard.
Therefore, it is for the benefit of every one involved that I have to informed the party involved of my visit.
Thank you for your feedback.
LOL... Today i saw three 960 bendies appearing within a span of 5 minutes during PM peak towards Woodlands ... last bus was half filled...
I think SMRT doing its best to prevent the public from stomping poor frequencies and overloading on 960 (especially after the Transport Minister has confirmed the "bus wasnt full" and commuters are just picky.)

Wah, talk about making sure everbody knows who was doing some work.
Especially during election year.
Almost like an employee working extra hard in front of the boss during appraisal time at near the end of the year.

How often do you see the name a MP at the end of an SBS Transit announcement?
Very soon will get to see MP washing void decks with residents.
