14 should be enough though. I don't see a problem with the current split-shifts S101,S102 and S201, Unless they shorten the timing.
But the one that should improve is 167 though, Even though I don't see a problem with it, But it should have some bendies as standby full-day perms.
Even if SMRT doesn't like 852 and 178 to begin with, They should be happy that these 2 services brings in revenue though. (Not asif they don't, to begin with)
980,178 and 852 always had a hand in SMRT's unwanted fleet, such as the UDs.

But if they are repainted again for exterior, I think they will get extended again...
178 is cannot make it w/ 14 buses de
The ideal run time during off peak is abt 70 - 77 mins. Simply because of detour to BNL, Bt Batok Ctrl bus stop, Upp Bt Timah traffic condition, Woodlands Rd (bus stop along e road, if e bus in front stops can't really overtake + more so not advisable to speed because some bus stops are at blind spots).

If you take either 160 or 170, the BCs attempt to overtake the SMRTBs.

quite true. 14 buses for such a service is never enough. and to think that 852 has only 12 buses....

For 852, 1 bus will be parking at BBT and Yishun for break before continuing the journey during off peak. So, 8 buses will be running on the road.

How can I say abt 160 & 170
if anyone check e e-tt, would know SBS didn't plan e schedule for 160 properly.
Tat said, attempt overtaking by SBS buses along Woodlands Rd is relatively less than I've 178 or 961 trying to overtake 170, near those blind spot stops also.

I guess the additional run time is to have their SLs to have more time to rest, before they start off again.
I remember I waited about 17 minutes just for 1 178 though, it's like quite long. extending the frequency means, 1 fleet has to go, but if it has to shorten, then it has to have a fleet add.

178 rest time think is very short, but think is SMRT wide.
Remembered took 178 CRL to WDL Ctr from KRJ. In abt 30 mins e appears again en-route BNL.
Tat said my recent ride on 960 is 25 mins wait and think SL's break makan away le, onlu 9 mins.

17 minutes is quite ok already leh, not asif it's 8-9 minutes.
960 cannot really blame (on Peak Hours), especially the working people + the SCGS students.

960 check is Weekday off peak. But cannot compare to the close to schedule - less 177. As for weekend, then it's time to look for a new schedule. But seems SMRT dunno is it hate or resist rescheduling.
178 off peak can have brunching also.
By the way. suspect 969 has a PM fleet addition on Sundays though.
