It goes something like this.
1500 hrs - Bendy 188
1510 hrs - Single 188R
1512 hrs - Single 188
1524 hrs - Bendy 188
1536 hrs - Bendy 188
1546 hrs - Single 188R
1548 hrs - Single 188
1600 hrs - Bendy 188
Same goes to 963 vs 963R
963 has about 12 to 15 minutes frequency. So, before the 963R bus comes, 2 963 comes first before 963R arrives about 2 to 3 minutes later. 963R successfully overtakes 963 at Toh Tuck Avenue.

Furthermore, u onli need to pay sentosa admission fee and not the bus trip
I am referring to commuters boaring 188 and 188R from IMM to Bukit Batok/Choa Chu Kang... Not RWS.

Doubtful. At most 1... 963R stops at too many bus stops.... Many red lights too....

Yup..... 188R and 963R isnt really a service to RWS... should rename as 963V and 188V... Vivocity Express... LOL....
So, which one will you want to choose for:
1) 30 minutes wait of 963R or 12 to 15 minutes wait of 963?
2) 35 minutes wait of 188R or 12 minutes waiting of 188?
Both non Rs and Rs can reach HBF around the same time right?

They should not have just stopped at Vivocity stop since already got RWS 8 to reach RWS. Can just express to RWS. Too bad for those commuters who take the wrong bus (Just want to alight at HBF). They should know the difference betweens Rs and non-Rs.

The main catchment is at Vivocity.... CONFIRM MUST STOP. RWS is just a terminal to park the bus. LOL....

under DBTF, those alrdy took long dist culmulative journey enjoy cheaper fares on 188R & 963R into RWS as long as timing is right.
I think the main purpose of 188R/963R is to transport pax. into Sentosa. Besides that, it also helps to support service 188/963/960/187 pax. along the way especially Bukit Panjang area where you hard to get a really unfull buses(960/963/187)

But I will consider 188R and 963R as 'eat money' service if the commuters takes from Bukit Panjang/CCK to Bukit Batok etc...
Welcome Back 188R & 963R!
No more free shuttle = More biz for SMRT

Unfair competition, protectism, no backbone, of course there's more business. What an underhand and despicable way of gaining market share, which causes local entrepreneurial businesses to lose money and many Singaporeans to be out of jobs.
Protectism against foreign companies is still understandable although unacceptable in a truly free market, but protectism even towards local business is really too much. So much of talking about creativity and entrepreneurship, without a truly free open market, and fair competition even with the local business, all these are just empty talk and promises.
What goes around comes around. One day, private companies will make SMRT bankrupt and go down the drain.

What can commuters do when they do not have a range of choices since the market is unfairly controlled?

188R & 963R only calls HBF bus stop and not Vivo.

Agree..last time took RWS8 to RWS. Saw lots of pax queuing up for RWS8, then a few for 188R & 963R and 1-2 queuing for RWS88.
