I am just curious, how do bus drivers know where to go? especially those long trips. Coz even new taxi drivers also not sure of the routes. Sometime can be quite confusing at diff turns, bus stops.
Sometimes try to see what are those equipment on the bus driver seat. Does it tell the driver the route or something?

They learn it the traditional way. Either they drive the route using an empty bus or observe revenue trips for the entire length.
actually if you start young like bus fans, you will and can know the route of all services in singapore..
anyway the things on the bus driver seat will be the timesheet, which only tells the driver what time he should reach the particular bus stop.
route familiarisation

you can have a driving license but don't drive at all for a year.
and that is 1 year of driving experience.

singapore is quite a small country... 2 years going around the island is enough. taxi drivers more commendable coz' they have to go everywhere.
