翻牌 (SBS Transit) versus halfway-on service trip (SMRT buses)

  Which is the best method to do so in order to meet the time schedule again?

  For SBST, once it lambats on the road like siao, the BC will be instructed by the OCC to take out the desto and finish the journey.

  For SMRT, they just finish the journey all the way no matter how many minutes are the BC is late, and will do downroute trip from the Interchange after that.

  Hope don't flame me if I post wrong stuffs. Thanks. And I am learning from there.

  SMRT's way is better....
  
  Cos in a jam... commuters already wait very long for the bus... and the bus just goes off service and everyone at the later bus stops do not have a bus to take...
  
  Imagine 3 of them got stucked in a traffic jam and all took their destos away... Commuters waiting at the later part of the journey will wait like crazy...

  Some may one shot directly from interchange to interchange.

  Some like to squeeze altogether in a slot.

  Some will go off schdeule completely.

  Last week where 791H reported late, it did not do OS, but came in together with 672T.

   

  As for SBST, I did experience that before. That time I took 154 from Paya lebar, it jammed so badly and the BC had to do just that.

  It does.. I rmb a week ago I took a Merc on 97 which was uber late

  On my trip frm MBS to HBF, BC alighted at Shenton Way and take out front and side desto and skip all stops (exception of alighting)

  翻牌 (fan pai) quite literally refers to flipping the desto over to the white side to make the bus seem like its off service? issnt it so?

  I'll say it again, SBST buses are NOT allowed to 翻牌 "fan pai" anymore.

   If only due to schedule deviation, all these are unauthorised. If kena caught or someone complains...

  TIB640K (on perm 187) went and downrouted somewhere else to WRI due to extreme lambat.

  Why?

  TIB640K was supposed to pick the pax from 187 berth at 3.30pm but I did not see a shadow of it. Only spot 3 187 buses went to WRI in 3 to 4 minutes (In sequence: TIB1046U, TIB844P and TIB640K). About 3.35pm, TIB640K finally came...... It went to the bus bay to park his bus first before starting his downroute trip (at 3.40pm) in order to meet the time schedule. Of course ended up the rest of people taking TIB1046U at around 3.45pm like that.

  All was happened yesterday.

  Sometimes SL may not do downroute, but may squeeze together with the schedule or shoot all the way straight to the interchange.
