never mind for this case i'll leave them here...
Hi,
thanks for nice comments!
@Ngweitong: no, the pics are not from Stuttgart, they are from my hometown Berlin.
The double deck buses are NEOMAN A39 / MAN ND313 Lion's City DD:
- seats: 83 + 1 (upper deck 55, lower deck 28 + 1)
- standees: 45
- length: 13700mm
- height: 4060mm
- wide: 2550mm
- gross vehicle weight: 26000 kg (to 28000 kg possible)
- PS / KW : 310 / 228
- cylinder capacity: 11967 ccm
- maximum speed: 80 km/h
The first bus of this type was introduced to service in 2005, now more than 400 of this buses are on running in Berlin. They replaced older dd types like MAN SD202 and MAN ND202 from 1987-1995 vintages.
In the years 1976/1977 the Berlin fleet for local bus service had around 1600 double deck buses - only in West-Berlin. Now in 2010 we have only around 400 dd's for the complete City (west and east).
But there is a flame of hope. The operator "Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)" want to buy around 200 additional Lion's City DD buses.
Here are some pics of the older types...
3793, Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg (Michelangelostr.), 2006.
This is a MAN ND202, 1995-vintage...
3049, Berlin-Marzahn (Allee der Kosmonauten), 2006
...and here we have one of the MAN SD202, this bus was manufactured in 1990...
3865, Berlin-Neukölln (Sonnenallee), 2005.
Most buses show any advertising...
3010, Berlin-Kreuzberg (Oranienstr.), 1997,
3086, Berlin-Schöneberg (Martin-Luther-Str.), 2007,
3656, Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg (Michelangelostr.).
Next picture shows a ND202 in front of Berlin city hall...
3022, Berlin-Mitte (Spandauer Str.).
The ND202s height was 4,12m and they couldn't operate at some routes, because there are any bridges in town wich have clearence height of 3,80m - 4,0m. The bridge of the following photo have a clearence height of 4,23m and the ND202's were not authorized to transit it, but sometimes they still transit...
3066, Berlin-Pankow (Wiltbergstr.), 2006.
The SD202s were bodyworked by "Waggon-Union Berlin" and later by "ABB"...
3931, Berlin-Mitte (Luisenstr.), 2006.
The ND202 type was the first low floor double deck routebus in Berlin...
3019, Berlin-Mitte (Pariser Platz), 1997.
The collection of photos and informations around the berlin buses will be continued whenever the time allow it to me.
Greetings from Matthias
