Why isnt it an app instead of a website? I cant seem to use it...

hi, you have note yongBus difference. The beauty of a web app is that it can be used not only on iphone, android, nokia, sony but any phones that has internet connection. Once you have selected your favourite bus number, yongBus will remember it the next time you return.
In another word, there is not installation. Once you have added it to your home or bookmark, you only need to goto yongBus website to see your frequency used bus arrival time. It is formatted to your phone specificiation and you can read without any scrolling or scaling.
Can you tell me more...
1. what phone and model are you using?
2. what broswer and internet connection are you using?
Please note that GPS hardware is not required to used on yongBus. With GPS, of course, it will auto search for your nearby busstop. But without GPS, you can key in the bus stop number, and it will remember your favourite bus information.

Then the title is misleading... it shld not read as for Symbian phones as any other phone with internet connection can access it...

To use yongBus, start your phone broswer and goto

On my first look, N97 should work because it has webkit in its browser user agent. But i will download N97 SDK to test. Will update you my findings.Talk to you again. Thank again for your post.

After downloading the N97 SDK and do some work, here is what I get for yongBus...
It seem that N97 has GPS, am i correct? I am not able to test the GPS on the emulator. But on further reading, I think N97 GPS is yet to be workable on HTML 5 because its browser does not support HTML 5. My app uses HTML 5 to detect GPS. If it could not, it will ask for manual input of your bus stop ID (5 digits) and save your favourite bus numbers. I will try to find out more. :) Thank you for using yongBus. .

What bus number smrt are you looking for? so that I can check. My area does not have any SMRT bus. Do you need the bus arrival time or the bus route for SMRT?
From their website, SMRT has not release their bus arrival information online. SBS bus has release their bus arrival via iris. Maybe we should email SMRT to do so. Anyway, I will find a way around your issue. Do post here if anyone has access to SMRT bus system. Thank you very much.

Just found out that SMRT buses arrival information is available online. I will build in SMRT buses info as soon as I could (latest is coming weekend).
Could you tell me your bus number that you are interested and bus stop ID? so that at least I can do a test on my side after new version.

I check for arrivals every where, so no exact location or service number.... I suggest you can also include the wab sign, just like Iris...

Does your sbs info come from iris? And can you post the site where you check smrt arrivals?

time seems to be short for me even on national day. just complete yongerp - to check erp timing n rate yestersday at http://yongerp.appspot.com
as for yongbus, i am using it everyday and will add in ajax timing for all buses at a bus stop in the nearby page. i will add in a map for all nearby bus like yongerp above. today when i take bus 16, i wonder if i can know what exhibitions are going on at suntec and when it passes indoor stadium, i wonder what yog games are playing now. guess mobile phone is evoluting into a event and advertising platforum. i also wonder what good food are nearby when i am on the bus. i will never take bus 16 today without yongbus telling me there is 16 just near where i am at beach road. i am grateful i develop this app...:)

- means slow traffic, expect bus delayThe new version will work on iphone and android. I will add in nokia, sony and other phone compatibility tomorrow.
SMRT buses arrival time are only available for these bus stop.

On one note, i find many of the existing bus arrival apps for iphone has been down since yesterdays. I think it is due to some changes in IRIS website. Hopefully, my site will be an alternative to keep everyone inform of the bus arrival. There are some other new features too.

The nearby feature display in about 7 seconds all the nearby bus number. It used to take about 28 seconds yesterday. So i though you may want to know about the improvement due to using progressive loading.
The search by roadname, building and bus stop ID should be out later of the day. It targets users without GPS locator.

Just upload a new version that display SMRT arrival timing. For example, SMRT bus 106 at lucky plaza. Please note that there are only limited bus stop that provide SMRT timing. Please read the list of available bus stop at LTA site. For SBS buses, they are mostly available at yongbus.
