I heard from some bus captain driving svc74 & 93 that Volvo Olympian 2-Axle will be ease from 3rd July 2010 as the distance fare is only for aircon bus. is this information true?
Quoted from Distance Fares FAQ:
2. If I take a non-air-con bus service, what would be my fare?
Today, the majority of buses (97%) are air-conditioned and thus the Fare Calculator is designed to calculate fares based on all bus trips on aircon buses.
For journeys that involve travel on non air-con buses, the total fare for the journey could be cheaper by up to 25 cents, depending on the distance travelled on the non air-con bus.

let's just say, this is a coincidence. DBTF had nothing to do with the VO2x.
Mm but SBS7275D is cameoing on 74. Nice to see it after 74 was converted to FAC service.
Cheers.

Sv 74 & 93 are still PAC services. No perms but haven't cut over to FAC services yet....
Last week they announce Bigger Buses..
This week 74 and 93 got downgrade from NAC DD to AC SD. LOL..

I just got a pic of it ytd
Cheers.
This also marks the end of the DDs for service 93.
But for service 74, BBDEP should have replaced all the VO2x with VO3x instead of MK3s
Service 154 in the past also had VO2x fleets too, all of them were replaced with ex-HGDEP Batch 1 K230UBs.
I foresee these buses going back to feeder services.
For SLBP, perhaps these buses will go back to JIS services and 241,242,243,333,334,335,143A.
For BBDEP and ARBP, 272, 273, 275, 282, 285 (Lets skip 284,284M).
334 is the best choice, in my opinion. I think Jurong West residents prefer a non air-con bus with seats, rather than a cramped air-con bus that is stuffy and filled with people with nowhere to stand during peak hours.

334 is a WAB service alrdy.
241, 243 has ADDs deployed.
I think u dun understand how 143A operates. It operates aft 2330 w/ buses returning from Toa Payoh before they call it for e day.

Are you sure that the demand are high enough for Bukit Merah feeders to use DDs? Also are you sure that there are no height restrictions on them too?

cannot use the experience of past deployments of LA's....
i remember 282 and 285 used to have VO2x, but for 282 to use DD the route needs active pruning along Clementi West St 2.
and, the redeployment is not because they're not needed anymore at BBDEP, but rather because they are required to be deployed elsewhere due to something.

Precisely... Zzz... =X
Why does SMRT and SBST always think an air-con single deck rigid can replace a bendy bus or a double decker?
Today got a VO2x on 74. Forgot its rego already, maybe SBS7275D. Cant rmbr. I boarded it at Ngee Ann poly bus stop heading hougang

people scared the the VO2x will sideswipe the tree branch at upper deck and that is the reason why ppl get injured?

It's because of e past LO2x, LAs licensed capacity.
In any case back then aft MRT started rolling out, w/ our then population size it's still ok unlike now.

Crush load. Wonder if there will be a stampede on the bus or MRT someday.
Anyway, my friend once fainted on 190. LOL...

huh? even with air-conditioned double decks, pruning is still required.....

i mean if people on VO2x upper deck sitting beside the window will get hurt by sideswiping tree branches because the windows can be slided to either open or close.
