VISITORS will now find it easier to get to Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).
Local operator Transtar Travel has rolled out three bus services: from Dhoby Ghaut and Toa Payoh MRT stations, and from Hock Seng Building in Lavender.
There are four to six stops for each route, with ticket prices at $4 for adults and $1.50 for children.
Last Friday, RWS itself launched a free bus service from Tiong Bahru Plaza. The buses, from Transit Network Consortium's fleet, run at 30-minute intervals from 10am to 10pm daily.
Transtar's red mini buses, which started operation on May 28, ply between 8am and 11.45pm.
Mr Sebastian Yap, CEO of Transtar, said it is still early to say if its bus services, aimed at Singaporeans and tourists, will be a success. Transtar has no plans yet to operate similar services to Marina Bay Sands (MBS).

then SMRTB should withdraw from RWS

Actually SMRT ought to be e one to revise RWS8's fleet lineup. At any 1 time there's 5 buses on berth.
I mean esp since it's public bus after all, if outside buses can be very packed, RWS shuttles ought not to get any special treatment since public bus resources is scare.
But again, it's contract. Likely RWS has a say over loading and frequency.

RWS8 fleet size is crazily high for such a short route =.=

Later fleet too little, very bad frequency, people complain then RWS don't want SMRT already.

tat's e problem w/ contract on a 'public bus route' since RWS8 is applied to operate even in peak hrs on Weekdays esp I'm referring to Sch Hol.
Outside public bus all packed like crazy, RWS8 can afford not to be jammed packed ppl will also start lamenting abt it.
Also it's way too many because buses behind all has to wait 5 mins halting just to wait for 1 RWS8 bus to depart as 1 RWS8 is also waiting to berth in.
I do not know where are the boarding pt of 743, 745 & 746.
But the Tiong Bahru free shuttle is berthed at e coach bay instead.
Tiong Bahru MRT Stn departure at the every 30th minute or full hr.
RWS departure at the every 10th or 40th minute of the hr.

Then for Transtar, they could have bought over the ex-SBS Transit OC.
