Anyway, will miss the LO3x with its Cummins LT10 engine, which produces sooty exhaust as compared to VO3x. And ofcause, its sound.

WAH THAT ONE!! muchhhh more notorious than 706E! how could i even forgotten about it LOL!
leyland not nice to drive, steering so heavy.
This scrapping of Lo3 is a step by SBS Transit to increase emission standards. Lo3, Euro 1. B9TL Wright, Euro 5.

Austin was brought under Leyland but not Bedford. The Leyland branding start to appear on the buses after the formation of the British Leyland Motor Company (BLMC). The BLMC logo was the infamous 'fan' with the 'L' in the centre. The Austins were acquired prior to that so they carry their own brand; just like the older Albion and Guy buses. I've seen from old photos that some Austins have the Perkins logo (a diamond with a circle on each corner) on the front as they have been re-engined with a Perkins Diesel.
Here's an obscure 'Leyland' bus used in the 70s. The Morris FG.

It is the last Leyland bus to be made at the Leyland factory in Workington.

BCs have to use lots of strength to steer.
CSS? Never noticed...

Geely bought Volvo that produces cars ..... Not Volvo Buses. It's 2 different things. If Geely bought the whole Volvo including the bus production line , our new batches of Wright B9TLs won't be coming in already..... Ah! It would be coming soon as long as all the Scania EEV Batch 2 are done with their bodywork assembly.

Didn't know CSS used Leyland before.........
i Never Knew CSS Used Leyland Before. Only Saw The Typical Nissan And Hino
LO3x's steering maybe heavier but it all goes to whether this BC are used to it a not. Many times, I see the BC are turning the steering like what they do on LO3x.
some points to talk abt,
Adv
Powerful acceleration even with a loading of 100 over pax.
Sound of the engine is marvellous
Interior I think is the quietest in the AC DD fleet
The passenger's swear smell are as not strong as those compared to VO3x.
More seats in the lower deck (Everyones favourites)
Disadv
Heavier steering wheel.
A/C fan speed lower but the air is colder than VO3x
Expensive to maintain for some parts
Some may have strong engine smell in the interior
Noisy brakes but they are safe

The new buses will still come in but the brand will change to Vogeely and the model will become XGQB9TLPCKJM. Hahaha....

Even I have not seen it so it was quite a surprise when I found the pic. CSS also used to run Bedford buses.

Ya, China buses always have long names. The new King Long Hybrid has a long name.

The steering of the leyland is heavy but if a skilled BC knows how to "control" the stiffness of the steering, the BC can drive with less effort (eg. reversing and going off the end-on berth). Those BC who does are not skilled enough to "control" the stiffness will end up like pulling carrot from the ground while throwing his/her whole bodyweight into it. There are also cases where some leylands steering are slightly lighter while some are heavier.
I don't consider the O405s loud but I can't imagine the Atlantean. BTW, they are selling Atlanteans out there. I was typing "Leyland Atlantean" and I saw "for sale."

The internal noise on the Atlantean is reduced thanks to the engine not being a part of the lower saloon. As you may note, the engine is placed behind the rear seat. Its not really that loud on the outside either.
There are still a number Atlanteans running around, especially in the UK. If you wish to ride one, the nearest running Atlantean can be found in Melaka. It is being used as a sightseeing bus on the Panorama Melaka route. However, it spends more time in the workshop than actual running.
Is the LOs in Singapore going off faster then those of other countries like hk? or they are also going off too?

hk some already went off.
Leyland produced nice buses, but they were always behind others in terms of technology, typical British companies. A product of nationalisation, British Leyland was a company next to complete failure, embattled by constant strikes, producer of inferior cars, and a company so large (imagine the amount of marques which were amalgamated) that diseconomies of scale basically set in.
When the nationwide privtatisation exercise took place (thanks to Margaret Thatcher), which saw National Rail, British Leyland, BAe and BAA, amongst others, a lot of British Leyland's marques were sold to other (often) overseas companies. Examples were: Mini (produced under the Morris brand), sold to BMW AG; Jaguar and Land Rover, brought over by Ford, now owned by TATA and MG Rover, now owned by the Chinese.
What happened to these brands is that they introduced a lot of technology which were lacking in British cars, and made them more reputable and marketable. The same goes for Leyland Bus, you would notice a vast improvement from the Leyland Olympian to the Volvo Olympian.

where's the 'like' button..
So that's the reason that Leyland was sold to Volvo. I wonder what would have happened if Leyland was not sold to Volvo. Leyland Super Olympian?

Geely bought Volvo Cars, not Volvo Bus & Trucks which remains independent.
