What in the world is going to replace the O405 Hispano when it retires?
Too early to say now........ (Especially if they extend their lifespan)

If they extend their lifespan, it would at most only be like a couple of years only.
447C would have to go by around 2014, the max it can give, while the 425R and 426M, would be gone by next year.
OC? lol

Rattling your way into malaysia...
If technology permits, mother ships from starcraft 2.
There is no minimum requirement on the age of the bus that can serve the cross border services right?
Suckily SMRT decide to use these buses for the next 20 years. LOL.... You never know.

Non basic bus services, not sure about that.
If the OAC buses are lucky enough, they may get to live until 2014 though, the max it can give, the CAC* batch most probably would go by 2015, If they are re-furbed.
* denotes buses registered after 30 dec 1995

Ic.. Cos 950 is considered cross border... doesnt come under basic services, doesnt it?
Then SMRT can slowly make full use of the Hispano OACs until their engines spoil out. LOL...
i dont think OCs will be used to deploy... how about bendies? can go in JB?

please state your meaning of non-basic bus services? such as x-borders etc?
Basic services = services like 143, 190, 238....

Can answer your previous question now though, the answer is yes.
Too early to tell for service 950 now. Look forward to see services 160/170 getting their new replacements for the outgoing Volvo MK3s 1st.
Anyway service 950 at most get Volgren Mercs 1st bah, followed by the next choice OC500LEs and the future Citaro fleets...

Whoa, Volgren mercz go there is like wasted though, might aswell spread the Volgren mercz better still, than to give it to 950.

But then look, most of the buses has to go by their 17 year lifespan, the max to the max is 19 years, can't go beyond that.

bolded part:
who says so? be it a cross-border service or not, the bus is still registered under SG govt, under LTA right? as long as it is registered under LTA, the bus is liable to a lifespan of 17 years, max lifespan is 19 years including 2 years lifespan extension.
if i am not wrong, cross-border services are also basic services which are also liable under QoS.

QoS is enforced by PTC. cross border svs are under LTA's control

if the PTOs cant find a suitable model replacement for the current subjected to the Malaysia side approval, there's nothing much LTA can do also.. rules and regulations set by LTA - no 2nd hand bus, all bus registered now has to be WAB etc. PTOs are merely following the rules but if the malaysian side dont approve because its not up to requirement, the best LTA can do is lifespan extension.
