Recently I had observed that both gearboxes have their pros and cons. As well as the percentage of stress on the engine. Which one is better in speed , fuel efficiency , prone to overheating [of engine] and last but not least , vibration and jerkyness. Please share ur view below if u are interested. Also , state the bad points of these 2 gearboxes. =)

A good comparison between these 2 gearboxes would be the MB O.405G [SMRT] .
Try TIB1161U. Quiet engine and powerful acceleration on slopes.

Accleration wise, they are no better than Allison. I'm for Allison Transmissions.
ZF Gearboxes have very high torque and gives jerks to gear changes but sometimes also tends to lock up. It's mainly good for the fast acceleration buses.
Voith Gearboxes have a smoother acceleration and high RPM but it's generally has a slower acceleration than the ZF gearboxes.
SBS7421Z is actually voith but it sounds abit ZF

ZF picks up much btr than Voith partially cos it also has a lock-up either before or after 2nd gear.

That's the wrong reason.
Because Voith locks up during the transition from first to second. So why should ZF pick up better because it locks up either in first or second when Voith does it between first and second.
And engine torque and gearbox setting is more crucial than the gearbox make. The ZF MKIII is just as slow as the Voith ones. The ZF B9TLs are just as fast in pick-up as the Voith ones.
I prefer Voith over ZF.
I find it quieter and more reliable.
I like the Voith's retarder..... But I also like the ZF due to it's whine when the engine is idle. But , a B9TL with a Voith pwns it all! Yeah baby!

Maybe ur right too...... Compare O.405G with the ZF and Voith...... But it seems Voith always win in terms of engine speed..... Correct me if I'm wrong?

Compare a Voith Volgren O405G and a ZF Volgren O405G,compare which is faster

Well,I like quite powerful buses,ZF makes the bus sounds more powerful (Compare ZF Volgren/Habit bendies with Voith Volgren/Habit bendies).ZF bendies sounds very powerful while Voith bendies sound like no power (unless over revving)

The ZF on MB O405G sounds the best..... Voith is only capcable of giving the engine stress ;)

Yah. Boarded 'my' bus that time and kenna fanbelt burnt incident on my favourite svc 960 somemore.
