makes sense for them. lower startup costs and they have no trouble getting land & manpower.

Only problem is their govt or rather people in power.
In any case, their IDR bus svs aren't tat 'up there'. 60 mins per bus those run by HI
reminds me
Tat Monorail project looks like aborted. This BRT surfaced because over funding, too ex to go on MRT.
60 min intervals are hardly "rapid transit" to me.
That side country big,Govt earn less from peoples,Majority Govt fund unlike here everything bulit indirectly "use" people funds.BTW public transport is secondary for majority.Everyone got their own bloody cars and motorbikes.

sure?
Explain their 26% taxes? Their subsidy tat causes a big defecit hole into their budget for 15 yrs? Subsidy dun come from people's fund & oil revenue? Not to mention 4% GST muted to plug e falling and eventual end to oil revenues.
JB recent yrs built flyover but at slow progress.. Simply road tax too cheap for any fast tracking of projects.
Public tpt is secondary? Shooting on your own legs when KL now wants to implement ERP thks to its rampent traffic jam. Cities can't survive w/ chaotic uncontrolled car population. They want IDR to be efficient, public tpt is the only way.

reminds me
Remember tat Senai Airport land accquisation crap? Till now never settled w/ landowners of land affected.
Their land accquiring laws aren't tat favourable to govt side for infrastructure devt.
Due to money "leakage" here and there, the cost of setting up the BRT might cost the same to set up a train system elsewhere. Thats probably why they can only build a BRT system.
