I am planning a clas outing for my class, so planning to charter a bus from SBS Transit, got a few questions not sure want to ask here...
1) how do they charge? by day? hours or distance?
2) can request for special buses? like demos?
3) payment mode?
Im wondering, the DAF SB220 joytour, did the organisers requested for what kind of bus they want?
looking for serious answers here, pls dont ask me to email to SBS Transit now. thanks!
nobody got answers to my question?
Most (if not all) companies who provide passenger charter go by the following types
1. One-Way Transfer
2. Two-Way Transfer
3. Disposal
1) and 2) are flat rates and 2 locations are needed for this. Indication of pickup time is needed
3) depends on the number of hours of charter. Private companies charge by the hour. the 2 PTOs have a minimum chartering period. Locations and pickup times are also needed.
Chartering from private bus operators are cheaper than the 2 PTOs.

trying to be unique, this is how my plan goes, chartering from 8.30am to 11.30pm, from amk go marina barrage, the bus can Free and easy, then after noon go other places then F&E, then go ECP, F&E the 10pm from ecp-amk int-hg int.
if possible would wana charter SBS997A
would the charges be above $200?

Public Transport Operators. Should be around $50 per hour I guess.

Umm... for 15 hours I guess your chartering could go up to probably seven, eight hundred dollars or maybe even a thousand dollars...

So how about hiring a normal rigid for SMRT (Hispano, Scania, DAF)?
whats the rate then? i would be preferring SBS Transit buses

It's like hiring a taxi...When it is not in motion, the meter still runs (because it could be used to ferry other passengers as the same time, i.e. opportunity costs)
so SMRT also $50 per hr?
Then which type of bus should i charter(only interested in smrt) if i am looking for a bus that is speedy and cool aircon.

abX + T = 1364.25, where T = t(abX), a & b are constants and X is a variable.
You only need to find out what is t as a, b are given and X is a corporate rate. You need to find out t before you can find X, where t is an easily and readily available figure.

price is high because, you are taking the bus for the whole day. imagine the bus can be used for revenue service for the whole day, how much can they take in? for example, you book from 8.30am to 11.30pm, they cant use the bus at all for any revenue service for that particular day..
BC must check the bus and maybe drove out of the depot at around 7.30-7.45pm to reach AMK earlier.. Even if the trip to marina barrage took 30 mins, then what can the BC do? Park the bus at Marina barrage? or drove back to Punggol to start a new trip of 62, then after this trip, off service back to Marina barrage to pick up you and your friends to the second place? then the BC drove back to Punggol again to start another one or two trip of 62?
then off service to go pick up you and your friend to ECP at evening time?then back to Punggol? and then go to ECP again at 10pm to pick up you? The cost of fuel going for so many off service trips is high. i think even have to use 2 BCs and also, it wont be possible for them to go replan the timetable/schedule just to slot in a few trips here and there?
suggest that you go book with private operators on a per trip basis. maybe with different operator. One trip from AMK to Marina Barrage.. 2nd Trip from Marina barrage to the place u want... Private operators are more flexible and rates is cheaper. their buses are good and fast also.. no point chartering a SBST bus which u can take everyday? so common....
Pls note that 997A cannot ply on certain roads due to turning constraints.
SBS Transit has closed and handed over its chartering division to CDG.
those CDG B7RLEs are not bad. u should try there.
