Non-basic bus services are launched by SBS Transit and SMRT Buses to cater to bus commuters who are awaiting from faster and more convenient bus travel to reach their destinations.
However, are they really effective in doing so? Share your views and opinions on non-basic bus services based on 4 factors.
Factors to highlight a non-basic bus service
1 Frequencies - Do buses arrive at the bus stops in time and depart from bus stops / bus interchanges / bus terminals in time?
2 Affordability - How are the fares of these bus services similar or different with basic bus services?
3 Efficiency - Are buses able to transport their commuters to their destinations in time and are buses able to divert easily during traffic jams?
4 Comfort - Are buses available with seats and are the seats comfortable?

and those who stayed behind called for cabs. Nonetheless the stadium direct services proved well though the east entrance should have another set of buses waiting though..

Yes. I can see the demand of CT8 from sgbuses' videos, but I don't know why I don't like such services. Express 502 (before route amendment) provided me with inefficient service.
the express name for 502, 506 and 518 abit extra.....and the parks services abit confusing...last time SBST said 401 and 403 were park services
Yes. I would like to suggest to SBST to launch a new service linking from the East to the Suntec/MBS area to really fight with Express 518 or convert it into a basic service.
However, some non-basic bus services are low in demand. Once, I see a bus doing RWS88 with no one on board, at first thought it was off-service, lol.

but its frequencies remained as horrible as it is even after they become trunk services. 408 and 409 also can become basic, as they are the only services that serve Mount Faber and Labrador Park.

Else how to allocate different fares?

Basic service would be better...
Service 722 by private operator gets revision of frequencies from next week I think.
4 trips from City To Bukit Panjang estate, up from 2 trips previously.
Up at bus stops served by 722 today. Route remains unchanged.

turning trunk means their fares are the same as their trunk counterparts. commuters also enjoyed 50¢ transfer rebate when fares were revised last April.
CT8 is always packed when I come across the bus serving CT8...... Direct from ChinaTown :)
Plan B services counted?

sure anot?
I would like to clarify something.
SBS Transit and SMRT Buses can actually deploy buses into some non-basic bus services.
Since Service 401 uses buses from Service 196 and Fast Forward 196e, SBS Transit can actually implement crossover slots for buses from Service 196 and Fast Forward 196e.
SMRT Buses should also implement crossover slots from Service 925 or Services 177 and 925 to deploy buses on Service 926.
Premium services 589 and 598 can be handed over to Bus-Plus, since its Toyota Coasters are deployed in Bus-Plus services such as Services 541 and 547. The Lentor Estate and Teacher's Estate bus services, as well as SMRT Link, can all be handed over to Bus-Plus.
Some weekend buses can be deployed on Service RWS88 (SP/RWS88) from KJDEP to better control the bus service.
Nite Owl and NightRider services can also get some buses since they operate on a Friday, Saturday and eves of public holidays basis.

No point running Sv 401 and 925 on weekdays. Sv 177, 196e & 925 needs the buses more.
