  There has been talk of fines for people who cheat the system and don't pay fares. Yes those are nasty farecheaters.

  Very little information about cases where the system cheats you *cough* and charges the wrong fare to your card. Not very nice of the system to become a farecheater as well. Some drivers fingers itchy, can make the fare stage jump by 20 between 2 stops. The so-called GPS "automatic" farestaging isn't perfect too, just like you know the "automatic" temperature control of some aircon buses is simply..."automatically" spoilt.

  "Sorry our farestages/aircon is automatically set by the system, we can't change it....buncha bureaucratic yadda yadda"

  You can be a nice, obedient model Singaporean, keep quiet and refrain from whining. Or you can make a fuss and complain, so that your family members, relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues do not have to go through the same nonsense that you encountered.

  (the bus operators do fine-tune their GPS farestaging when necessary. they just don't tell you about it.)
