Shud not scrap outright ba... 15 chassis shud be good as spare parts.... there are still 45 to 49 other Scania's in SMRT fleet that can use the parts.

Sorry, just to clarify something here. TIB839E is spotted as usual on 970 today. If you think is rego alphabet or number mistake, TIB840A is spotted on 852 today. As of today, ONLY TIB833X & TIB835R are listed as lay-up on the LTA website.

Yes. I agree with you too
Also, can't they be tuned for more aircon power/less vibration? I mean, with some refurbishment they are rather fine buses.
The only Zero Step Bus before OC500LE is going :(

I dint EVEN get a chance to take a KJDEP ELBO bus.. =( My first time riding this bus was this yr, on svc 187..

I think the Elbo bodyworks and internal furnishings are not suitable for the Scania suspensions. To make the buses more lasting probably require a rebodying. Otherwise you can see the aircon, wall and ceiling panels coming loose all the time even after any refurbishment. The aircon cant really be helped - unlike the Merc CAC's, the Elbo's overhead ductings, panels and vents were never meant to conduct processed air anyway. They were originally meant to be NAC's all the way. If you increase the Aircon power/output, all it does is to leak the cool air out at the first non-airtight spot along the conduit.

I was damn stupid.i took TIB844P on 187 one time and i didnt put coins for the trip.if i had known then that this would happen so fast,i would have put coins and got a ticket.

They are withdrawing buses that are just over a decade old over commuter complains? Can't those problems be fixed rather than wastefully scrapping otherwise-perfectly good buses?
No wonder SMRT's bus division is bleeding oceans of money, and no wonder fares keep going up.

No. It can't be because of pax complaints.
It should be due to the nature of the bus's condition.....
Which means tridents, which see quite a fair bit of lay-up here and there, might be in danger of being phased out early in the future.

Yeah.this is all the stupid public's fault.and SMRT also has quickly believed their complains.
scrapping buses in good conditions by listening to their stupid complains is like a cruelty to these poor ELBOs..i am definitely going to miss this unique buses with their unique bodywork name also.farewell to the Scania ELBOs.
