To accommodate the peak hours in the morning....
Last time i stayed along Upper Paya Lebar Road, always saw svc 24 full load till the brim....that's why with 30 buses, it can help to ease the load.

Too much SD leh. They would be overloaded. Btw, u really want so many VO3x on svc 179? They strangle up to the hill and with full pack at the lower deck it is super stuffy.
Haha, 5 SDs only lah.
Most of the times, some of the DDs (perhaps 2 - 3) are not even quite occupied even in the peak hours. Perhaps in the future, they should replace some of the LO3x (maybe 2 - 3) with DM3500s, just like last time when there were 3905X and 3858Z. I would prefer DM3500s to MBO405s because DM3500's engines are quieter and less disruptive - makes the journey a whole lot more comfortable. I don't like MBO405s because I find that the sound of their engines are so irritating - very loud!
As for the VO3x, I have to admit that I like VO3x over LO3x. I like the extra standing area + VO3x engine sound is more pleasant to the ears. The hill is still manageable. 9049C, 9128H and 9111E are retained because these 3 buses are on service 179 since day 1 when 179 launched in 2001. The other LO3x I listed in my deployment fleet are my favourites. Seriously, 179 has too many LO3xs and they make the fleet quite dull. Need more VO3x, haha!

The VO3x A/C is very noisy! It's very difficult to record the VO3x engine sounds inside the bus.
I rather have VO2x than VO3x. VO2x can chiong much better than VO3x.
To me, the LO3x make the fleet more interesting instead. Every LO3x is different. From the gearbox to the engine sound to interior. Each bus is unique! I still remember, when 9021G first came into the fleet, there was a big hole above the rear seats. Not sure if it has been repaired now.

Actually depends on bus to bus and batch to batch.
Batch 1 VO3x, you can hear the engine sound clearly, although on batch 1b (9301 to 9400), the radiator sound is louder.
The other batches the radiator sound simply covers the engine sound, although you can still hear the engine sound.
This is true at least for the hgdep ones.
I'm talking about the A/C sound lah. If you sit at the rearmost seats. The A/C filter is just above you! It entirely covers the engine sound.

As for the VO3x
For MB 0405, if u stand beside the BC or seat at the green seats and u would like that very much. VO3x seems to have some problem with their aircon at the lower-deck.
The loud howling engine sound become louder.
