Yeah! The frequency from 8.15 to 8.35 (and also 9.05 to 9.20) is an average of 1.5mins! So the buses already start bunching at the boarding berth there!Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Some svc like svc 179's time schedule would be in a great mess in the morning. At about 8.20am, u can see more than 3 buses bunching together and passes through. So how to provide real time information correctly?
Is the IRIS system installed in the bus int or in the bus or even the bus stop?Originally posted by stooper:Yeah! The frequency from 8.15 to 8.35 (and also 9.05 to 9.20) is an average of 1.5mins! Even the old TV which displayed the time (which dunno disappear where now) couldn't even clear the bus regoes fast enough. It sometimes skipped a rego because after scrolling through the 4 pages, the time was already over!
And also the timing of 179 buses would be highly unpredictable. If the order of buses leaving BNL is A, B, C, D, it might arrive back as D, C, B, A! So the timings of IRIS would keep on jumping up and down as buses are overtaking each other, then overtaking back!![]()
Erm.. the system would likely be involving your handphone..Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Is the IRIS system installed in the bus int or in the bus or even the bus stop?
It's something like *655?Originally posted by sBs_boy:Erm.. the system would likely be involving your handphone..
it uses GPS to determine its location and then uses GPRS to update the location back to the operations center so it will be pretty accurate.Originally posted by ignoramus2006:Was just about to post that!
Wonder how accurate it is (must be accurate to at worst +/- 5 mins but not too accurate because we dont know what exact time it is based on)...and how does it generate the info...
I want ONE Bus company. Two bus company is sickening, especially when one is living in SMRT territory. Cant experience all these innovations, and vice versa for those living in SBS transit territory, cant experience the SMRT next bus stop displays...
Update: Services will not be listed only on their days of non-operation.....Originally posted by ^tamago^:
