i don't know leh, but he never seems to think much of JC students. he firmly stands by his view that a poly education trains students to be much better and more all-rounded people..Originally posted by kopiosatu:poly look down in JC? really ah? first time i've heard of it
well got both pro and consOriginally posted by MooKu:Today, I approached my elder brother to borrow an Economics book he had. The author was some Parkins guy. Upon handing me the book, my brother said, "This is an excellent book. For thinking students."
For THINKING students.
Does he look down on JC students or what.
Are we looked down upon... since nowadays a polytechnic education seems to offer more?
[or maybe i'm just reading too much into what he said?]
true true.. but my bro's words were so discouragingOriginally posted by ntu slacker:well got both pro and cons
but the winner is the student whu ends up happier and wealthier be it from a poly or JC
everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. no need to be so affected by it.Originally posted by MooKu:i don't know leh, but he never seems to think much of JC students. he firmly stands by his view that a poly education trains students to be much better and more all-rounded people..
it's discouraging... but i'm going to try harder and be smarter than him in all areas after my 'A's i'm going to finish reading half the books in the library's non-fiction section =POriginally posted by the Bear:what is happening (i see it myself) is that the poly students are usually left to "fend for themselves" to sink or swim...
while the JC students (supposedly with better results) are spoon-fed and made to mug like hell... the syllabus and grading is such that it rewards mindless regurgitation and memorisation...
they're trying to change that but it ain't happenin'...
myself, i regret not taking a stand and going to poly... even tho' i was qualified to go to NJC..
oh well.. life goes on...
mookie, don't put it to heart, else it just eats at you.. go study!
good luck yah?
