I had heard of tarantulas that can be bought in malaysia in pet shops and some people keeping them in singapore, which is obviously not allowed. So anyone ever kept one of these care to share how they are like?
One of the more popular species kept as a pet is the Chilean rose, hardy, easy to care for spider native to Chile.

The following are among the best tarantulas for first time owners:
Chilean Rose (Grammostola rosea)
Costa Rican Zebra (Aphonoplema seemani)
Mexican Redknee (Brachypelma smithi)
Mexican Redleg (Brachypelma emilia)
Desert/Mexican Blonde (Aphonopelma chalcodes)
Curly Hair Tarantula (Brachypelma albopilosum)
they can live from 15 and up to 30 years
cool.....

My friend used to breed Haplopelma Hainanum and Hapopelma Robustum..and offered to give me a 2 month old to rear..but back then in secondary school, the idea of breeding mice as feed for them appeared sick to me
i had seen one of these being kept as pets. they dont bite but play around with yr fingers
is it true that tarantulas will so-called release their "hairs" when they are threatened..

yes, the hairs will cause itchiness on yr skin...

that means those keeping them as pets must be extra careful that this does not happen..

wow.. does it pounce on the mice like a fighting spider on a fly?
u dont have to give them mice, just house lizards and crickets will do and occasionally mealworms some fruits and vegetables or small guppies
they dont bite or anything?o.o
