How big is ur social circle? How do u noe the pple in ur social circle?
I believe nowadays alot of us will noe pple from net..forum.. etc etc...so do u classify net frens(seen n unseen) as ur real frens or juz simply net frens?
The bigger the social circle...the better?

sgforum frens, other forums frens, ex-sch mates, outside frens, fren's frens, colleagues, ex-colleagues....
networking is bery impt.....
can pull strings.... -
i knew my friends from primary sch, sec sch, poly, church & colleagues or ex colleagues..
otherwise knew some through friends..
those i knew from the net, if unseen.. consider as net friends
those i met before will consider as friends.. but how good will depend on how well we can click
for me, its better to have a bigger social circle, if this group of friends are busy or rather you don't wanna join their activity. you can always join other groups, more choices

me have very small social circle..coz i do not conside hi-bye friends as part of my social circle.. thus the only ones that are in are those that are still chatting n updating me wans..
of course i have friends from pri, sec n poly,work..forums,irc, icq, work etc etc..
but sad to say i only keep in touch with a handful(less than 5) from my pri n sec sch and maybe poly n workplace (last time n now)
so in conclusion, me hv small social circle -

Got net friends (which will become friends if they are real nice ppl), ex-colleagues, colleagues (colleagues are not friends ), dive kakis, expat friends, friend's friends, ex-classmates... to many liao.
social circle is too big can be a problem....... to your wallet Got too many friends and I dont know why I always got invited for whatever major events they have. (wedding lah, house warming lah, birthdays lah... funneral lah

me haf...sec skool frens...poly frens....outside frens...frens' frens...forum frens...net frens...

yaloh agree wif mr bean tat big social circle can be quite straining on the wallets..esp birthdays...bt as for the problems ...i dun tink it affects mi much...cuz not every 1 comes to tell mi abt their tai ji..onli close ones...ni onli go to those v good frens for advice... -

for me, i think its difficult to maintain "equal amt" of time spent with diff grp of friends..so therefore it might result in different closeness with them.. so as time goes by.. we spent lesser time together n eventually nber contact lor.....

there are of cos frens who are jus "hi-bye"......
and some tt u hang with more often.....
those tt cannot meet up often will have to wait until "big events" like fren's bday.....alumni gathering to catch up....
some tok on ICQ/email to keep one another updated..... -

I think my social circle is damn small.
I would not consider hi-bye friends as those in my circle. I only consider those who i catch up ever now and then,meet up ,chat on the phone etc. Call me fussy or whatever word that suits but i just cannot imagine having friends or rather those in my social circle but you seldom meet up and talk to. I do not know but though i have "friends", i find it hard to click with them. I find people these days are insensitive and selfish? When you have nothing, nobody gives a F### about you, however if you have sumthing to benefit them, they coem to you?
I agree on the whole that networking is an important aspect of life especially when you start working, especially sales and marketing. However, does that spell an impending doom for those who just simply cannot click with others even though they are not introverts? For me, i've came across many situations when i've met new people but their attitudes or first impression really gets on me. Hmm...not sure if any of you experienced this, sometimes a harmless and playful show of arrogance say in a game of soccer and everyone starts judging you that very moment when some of these friends have been with you for a period of time that they only see fit that moment? When they do likewise, they get their way? Im quite pissed and tired of such things happening that i'm more of a loner doing my own things these days. Just cant seem to connect with anyone.
I feel Singaporeans are insecure on the whole that accounts for the way they act? Correct me if im wrong. I'm not saying that people overseas might be better, but i'm seriously considering starting afresh abroad, somewhere away from all the crap here,people's mindset and attitudes. What are your views? Care to share with me. -
