Man jumped off Sheares bridge attempting suicide Our heroine was on a passing boat and threw the life buoy and saved the man eventually *applauses*. At first the man clung on but refused to get up the boat. Man was injured- body heavily bruised on one side of the body and left arm/legs injured (possibly fracture) --> mentioned by our heroine during news interview. Man was a taxi driver who parked his vehicle near bridge and was contemplating suicide due to financial woes. --> also mentioned by our heroine.

THE crew of a tour boat saved a cab driver who fell 9m from the Benjamin Sheares Bridge on Thursday evening.
Captain Abu Bakar Mohammed, who was steering the Duckboat towards Marina Promenade with five tourists and two crew members aboard, said he heard a loud sound as the vessel passed under the bridge.
A minute later, he saw a man bobbing in the water.
As he moved his vessel closer, tour guide Angela Wee, 23, threw the man a rope and a life buoy, and with two others, pulled him on board.
The 50-year-old had injured his ribs and left arm, and was taken to the Singapore General Hospital.
Ducktours operations manager Wong Ee Hong said the boat was there at the time only because the weather had prompted a change in its schedule.
The police are investigating. -
