i've been handling the project development independently anyway, time to take the leap of faith, what have i to lose.
hahah..i'm not arguing anything what..btw you don't have to worry about tarnishing my faith in IT or anything for that matter..i don't give blind faith for anything undeserving..you can go ahead and lay out all the facts objectively..btw, given the poor job market for local IT professionals, they shouldn't mind getting china/india pay.Originally posted by www:let's try to think yourself as the boss of a company.
for IT side,
employing a 3 years experience software developer = $2,200 to $2,500
employing a 5 years experience software developer from china/india = $1,800 to $2,300
compare the same scenario to other position such as customer service, marketing, sales and etc. and you prob know what i mean.
anyway, no point arguing over this. we are all commenting what we see and read about everyday.
I am not here to tarnish your faith on IT profession.
is tt so? i would imagine getting new ones would be more ex, considering the backpay required for those who are eligible (unless they stopped giving that) and training as well.Originally posted by www:not exactly. agencies like SAF are ceasing to renew contracts of many regulars.
its lower cost to them to sign new recruits.

it shouldn't matter that there are many others to compete with..since outsourcing has become mainstream, these 'consultancies' will be serving the country's IT needs right?Originally posted by M:yes there are, and certainly not just a few.

They probably wouldn't mind if the cost of living they're resident to, is akin to china's or india's, keeping in similarity as before the correlation between skilled pay and living expense.Originally posted by boy in blues:hahah..you don't have to worry about tarnishing my faith in IT or anything for that matter..i don't give blind faith for anything undeserving..you can go ahead and lay out all the facts objectively..btw, given the poor job market for local IT professionals, they shouldn't mind getting china/india pay.
you are right..not becos they dun mind but they no choice..wage cut better than axe cut..maybe can part-time sub-contract themselves out to those IT 'consultancies' do those take-home assignments from other companies.Originally posted by M:They probably wouldn't mind if the cost of living they're resident to, is akin to china's or india's, keeping in similarity as before the correlation between skilled pay and living expense.
Still, there are folks taking the wage cut, but not that they don't mind.
