wat an optimistic thinking.... but how long do both of ya need to save up b4 getting married???Originally posted by skinnybeanie:if financial burdens are your only worries, then they are no big worries at all.
It is true tat thr will be more financial burdens. But then, it's gonna be combined income, so you shouldnt worry too much abt it.
My hubby n i used to worry about that before. But things will fall into places as time goes. We started out wif riding a bike, then we got our car, a small one tho'. We had intended to look for a re-sale 4-rm flat and in the end, manage to get an executive flat. Trust in the Lord and He will bless you with all good things tat He feels is good for you. I always tell hubby that whatever He doesnt gives us, are things are either not good for us, or which we are not ready for.
Dun worry

how ex it is depends on wat things u want.Originally posted by ©(^@^)©:me too.... i often feels that getting married is a v v v EX thing.... u need all the $$$$$$$ for almost everything... how can we possibly earn tat much of $$???? hmmmmmmm.......
they really together ah??Originally posted by jOhO:hmm seems like u and silly for real eh?![]()
very true! i think the main thing tat scares most couples off is the wedding dinner. My advice is: have a simple one. And anyway, there'll be ang pows to contra off the outlayOriginally posted by jOhO:ahha thanx.. u see i need that weight to give a sturdy support for all the camera equipment i carry.
eheh yeah i don't really think financial problems are bigger becos of marriage. say u dun get married, u'd still wanna buy house buy car etc etc...
and some married couples still stay with (usually?) the guy's parents until they save enuff for their own place.

wow! thats alot ye...... i hvn even got a perm job, and i m not those kind who really noe how to save $$... hahaa..... spent every single cents...Originally posted by skinnybeanie:more of realistic than optimistic.
I have the habit of saving all along (gosh, sillyme will be shocked!) so i can't really say how long ya need to save up. It also depends on your current commitments and income.
As for how much $, depends on wat you wanna do. If getting a new flat, think u need at around 40k for the reno plus furnishings.
A bridal package should cost around 5k. And for the wedding dinner, it all depends on where and how many tables..
You should try to save as much as you can. But bear in mind that you shouldn't be spending every single cent of your savings on the house and wedding. Gotta keep a few thousands for rainy days

have to say that when i was attached, EVERYONE knew that i was.. and who she was tooand when she got her job, and did very well for her first piece of work, i was so proud of her and told everyone too! and when her boss was unreasonable, i wanted to go bash him...
oh well.. things like that, i guess that's being attached and wanting to put her on a pedestal, and demand to everyone: "Hey! THAT's my girl! look at my girl! Isn't she wonderful!"
Melbourne.. yah.. spent 3 years there.. the apostles are falling over... unfortunately... erosion... and i have to admit to NEVER going on the Great Ocean Road thing in my 3 years therenuts! most of the Victorian things, I've never gone to
such a failure huh?
But jOhO, go to the St Kilda markets on Sunday.. it's wonderfuli always enjoyed myself thoroughly there
walk around, then later, go have some pizza or souvlaki and a beer or 2.. they were always wonderful days spent there

food, you have to try the viet beef noodles along Swanston Walk.. i think it's called Mekong... takes your breath away! as well as the Souvlaki from the Souvlaki Bar in town.. simply wonderful stuff
shopping, go to the suburbs of Richmond where the factory outlets are.. you can get pretty good things and clothes from as cheap as $3and pretty good quality too
