well i appeared on makan sutra b4.. my friend and i are 'makan-matas'... there was one episode which we went to a teochew muay coffeee shop to do some tasting.. they featured us buying, tasting and commenting on the food..
my friend now works for makan-sutra

that was years ago... i stopped when i finished my uni days.. i think it was a reality check that did that...
we were guys in a dorm room.. the next room were 3 girls... well we drank.. lots.. every weekend.. being the 2 biggest rooms in the hostel, everyone and anyone was invited... but most of the drinking was done by about 6 to 7 guys... our neighbours asked if they could collect the empty wine and spirit bottles.. of course they could
after a semester, a mantlepiece 10 feet across and 1 foot deep was so full of bottles (mostly spirits) and there were some more on the floor...

i guess so.. but there's something that they never seem to have.. something which is delicious... the teochew call it "sek hir" (literally cooked fish)... can buy this from the market.. the fish is already cooked.. sometimes they have other things like squid and crab... it's cooked as is, which means that it is usually cooked immediately by the fishermen when caught.. so it's very fresh.. oh, not for the squeamish tho'.. the innards and stuff are all still inside..Originally posted by skinnybeanie:some stuff i know, but still shiok to go for the outside ones esp when they have a huge variety.

would have loved to study overseas but couldn't afford it. So gues i missed out a lotta fun.
