Setting:
Stylised to give an English private club feel. Huge reproductions of European paintings complement the high recessed oval ceiling and chandelier. The parquet and carpet flooring offset the inclining glass wall overlooking Orchard Road below.
Food:
The restaurant - part of an American chain - features standing ribs of roast beef, reminiscent of Sunday home fare. The famous original spinning bowl salad sets the mood - with a flourish, waitresses toss fresh greens, chopped eggs and croutons with a piquant dressing at the table, with the salad bowl spun on a bed of crushed ice. The main course of slow-roasted standing rib roast beef is carved at tables from state-of-the-art 'silver' carts (actually stainless steel), to customers' requirements, by white-gloved carvers who proudly wear their Royal Order of Carvers medallions around their necks. The various cuts of beef listed on the menu are accompanied by Yorkshire pudding served in a small skillet, Idaho mashed potatoes, gravy and excellent whipped cream horseradish. Dinner accompaniments embrace baked potato, creamed spinach, creamed corn and buttered peas. As an alternative to beef, seasonal fish and broiled Nova Scotia lobster tails are available. The luncheon and Sunday brunch menus also include other items. An exclusive condiment is Lawry's Seasoned Salt. The signature dessert is English trifle, with other sweet offerings of cheesecake, chocolate cake, fresh fruit and ice-cream. A hearty appetite is recommended!

Staff are courteous and efficient and have a good understanding of the menu.
