imagine those are our soldiers fighting the iraqi war now... i think they cannot make it. have you seen our fresh NSmen? they look like blur schoolboys.
can those blur schoolboys really defend our country? -
I think that our army are like newbies, never fought war before.. and might be shaking when they heard real firings, bombs, missles...

Dun think so, as far as I noe, most are willingly to fight for their love one in Spore. I think weapon wise, we are among the best in south east asia. in a war, who wouldn't be afraid? the guys in iraq now are probably feeling the same fear we'd feel when someone attacks us.
basically we know what we have to do... put on camo, hide in the bushes and shoot the morons who attacked us.

What you have to realise is that the US soldiers are all regulars and signed on by their own will. Where as compared to Singapore which enforces mandatory conscription.
Not everyone is alright with spending 2- 2.5 yrs of their lives in the army. That is why in most unit, alot of men give 50% to what task thay are assigned to do, and all that is in their mind is to ORD. -
I just ORD.. From wat I see, abt 40-50% of the NSF are quite willing
. Another 30-40% serve half-hearted 
and the rest are the unwilling grp

yes we r willing to fight for our love ones,but at wat cost?at wat price?like someone says,or are we jus fighting to keep the million $$$ a day PMs in their paper throne?i think some of u have the wrong impression of war.it doesnt have to be like the japanese occupation. esp. in this mordern day.sometimes its jux like changing a set of rulers. could turn out worse or could turn out better. goes both ways.

Fighting for the country is 1 thing, "protecting" love ones is another.
Our Govt. had done a bang up job in terms of tax and so on making live tough for everyone. And when people decides they can't live on any further in this country, the Govt. calls them quitters.
I've taken the oath to swear and protect this country at any cost and all that just like the others who've done the same.
But would I fight for this country ? nope. But I'm willing to fight side by side with my buddies if the need arises just so to protect the women and children.
