My bf n I were together for abt 2yrs... then i broke up with him late last yr b'cos i cudn't tolerate to his unreasonable temper n demands anymore... i nv msg him since then... he was very very upset...
On X'mas day, he brought me a big soft toy n a card... i was moved by wat he wrote in there.... but i cant give myself in juz like tat... i dun wish undergo wat i had went thru' agn... i juz thk him 4 d gift.
One of my gf noe one of his colleagues... one day, when we went out, she told mi tat he wud b sent to US for work purpose. tat was when i started 2 msg him agn... as a fren...
dunno y, initially when i watched d news abt war bet US n Iraq, i cried... 'cos he's a military man... tatz wat makes me so worried
... some how or rather, i felt tat he go US b'cos of mi... (dunno i shed how much for him liao... )
I went out with him agn... slowly we patched back.... 'cos i felt tat he had changed... he treated mi better than b4...
we were happy like b4 until 1 day.... i read his msgs out of curiousity when he went away 4 a while... i usually dun probe into his msgs.... but dunno y i had d urge 2 read it.... GOSH! i cudn't believe wat i saw...
he said he will cherish mi.... he wud propose 2 mi when he's back frm US... n there.... i saw tis msg frm a gal... i wud nv nv nv 4get wats written there.... "dear, can i hug u tml?" then i saw a msg frm another gal, "Love u, dear"..... i cudn't believe my eyes!!!
He came back n saw mi looking at his hp.... i exited d inbox... i kept quiet... but i noe he felt something wrong... i asked him calmly if he had hidden anything frm mi... d moment he said "Sorry...", my tears rolled profusely
.... as usual he started 2 explain n apologise... i regretted accepting him once agn...
he told mi he wasn't true 2 those 2 gals... those gals came into his life when i broke up with him...
come on... y r guys like tat? we often c such cases on tv. gosh, it really happened 2 mi... i was thoroughly upset, disappointed in him... he asked 4 forgiveness...
i had given up a nice guy when i patched back with him.... is it worthy?
If u were mi, wat will u do??? I m afraid of walking into d wrong step agn... -

Hao ma bu chi hui tou cao (Sorry, don't the literal english translation for this saying). You broke up with him previously because of his bad temper and his unreasonable demands - I suppose this was quite a major problem and he still didn't want to improve, leaving you with no choice but to break up.
You have a soft spot for him even when time passed - he knows it. He sent you gifts and card - you were moved, but your rational mind scream warning of the dreaded past - you remain firm with decision.
Then he have to go US for work purpose and somehow you 'feel' and 'think' that he went there because of you - obviously this is an assumption. Based on this assumption, you decide to go out with him again because subconsciously, you feel that he have changed/sacrifice for you. Definitely he will treat you better than before because for a past lover to gain your trust - he has to work twice as hard - well, he gradually did.
All good things must come to an end - truth will be revealed someday. You realise this bf of yours ain't what he seemed to be; he may treat you better, but nevertheless one thing remain the same - he has never really learn to treasure and appreciate you.
Those 2 girls came into his life when you broke him? Wow, think about this man - if you never uncover this little secret of his - do you think he would ever tell you? No...
They came into his life when you broke him previously - then how come he is still lingering with these past ladies? Oh, so he said he wasn't true to them - how sure do you think that you will be exception?

So you accepted him again. You have given him first chance already I suppose and he blew away the second one too. Now its time to ponder, understand and learn why are you sticking with a man you can't fully trust and why is he sticking with you. He said those girls are in the past - HEY, 'dear, can i hug u tml?... love you, dear'... it takes TWO to clap. Come on lor, I bet with 98% confidence he would be saying some sweet little stuff to her as well, thus she is just reciprocating him.
P.S: Are you sure you really love him because he is someone you can trust and he would appreciate you OR do you simply miss the days when you both are in honeymoon stage and the fact that his seemingly changed character is able to bring back such good memories - triggering your subconscious desire and craving?

Not much more to say, except u'll probably be posting again saying u can't forget him and u still love him and blah blah.. it hurts etc.
i really do hope that u're not one of those that will hang on to one thing in life and that's it. (in this case ur bf). NO ONE should be indispensible in your life. that's what i think anyway.
as for your "oh-so-charming" topic title, if u really think that way, then looks like u're either gonna be single for the rest of ur life, or you're gonna have a really sh[/i]it marraige.
not becos the guy is bad, but becos of your attitude.

Why do you go back to him? out of pity that he is going to the states bcos of you? If you are 1000 miles away from him, can you be sure that he would not look for someone over at the states to fill his emptiness?

As with the threads with the same subject, there are people who look for "deep and meaningful relationships" looking out for a partner they can have this deep and meaningful relationship with.. yet cannot look beyond the superficial... they will fall for the people who are "good looking", whom "everyone would like to be with" and all that.. and because of one thing or another, refuse to accept that their choice may be a shallow and self-centred being who will bring misery.
Then "all men are bastards" philosophy sinks in...
Also, someone wrote that most women think "All men are bastards" because they are pathologically attracted to these bastards and throw themselves at the bastards who then treat them accordingly.
Not all good men are dead... but I'd wager this pathological attraction to the bad ones will keep breeding more bad ones... -
