I think that this war is just some personal disputes between US and the iraqs which is not concerned with the disarming of weapons. I also think that the US is making use of this situation to attack baghdad.. The US might be making a revenge for the 911 tragedy against iraqs as there are many Muslims in Iraq. the world might have a different view on bush after this war.. Bush acted on its own and has violated UN rules.. -
First, this war is sanctioned by the United States of America namely, George Bush Junior. England sent its reinforcements because it sees a potential for it to benefit after the war, mainly from USA.
However, if you have heard or you know George Bush Senior's post-Gulf War speech, you would know that the USA is riding on that reason to attack Iraq. The reason? It is that if Saddam or Iraq does something that USA is not happy about, USA would not hesitate to take military actions against Iraq.
Some people say that this war is about USA getting hold of the oil in Iraq, it could be true. But i think that the oil could be more for the USA themselves rather than for export purposes. Imagine a superpower country able to supply themselves with raw fuel, water, large land area, amassed wealth, significant control over world's economy. The raw fuel factor will definitely add to the power to the USA, no trade sanctions or embargo will significantly weaken the USA. This move can and i believe is actually planned long before when the UN refused immunity against war crimes for USA soldiers in times of war (but this is a story for another time.)
There can be many more other reasons which everybody else can come up with, but only the people of Whitehouse knows exactly what is the goal of this war.
The repercussions of this war? We all know that if US or Britain OR BOTH gain control of the raw fuel, it might fall if either of them decides to use it for export (mainly Britain), but if might also rise if US decides not to use the fuel for commercial purposes or both of them shares the same ambition. But peace will definitely remain for long, read NORTH KOREA. This is the real deciding factor, if Kim Song Il decides to use his Nuclear warheads on his purchased Scuds. So another reason for this war could also be Bush punishing Saddam for selling Scuds to America's real threat, North Korea.
But heck anyway, who is concerned abt abandoned babies in SG?! Nobody!
