  coolger03: Not all period cramps are caused by endometriosis. Some are, but not all. The common type of menstrual cramp is caused by the body's overproduction of a chemical (prostaglandins) that makes your uterine contract excessively, thus causing cramps.
  
  If you suspect something is wrong IamAngeline, or just want peace of mind, then you should go to a doctor to get a pelvic exam.
  
  Otherwise, regular painkillers like Panadol are ineffective, and you just increase your intake every month as your body gets used to the dosage. You should ask your doctor for drugs like Ibuprofen or Naproxen. These drugs reduce the production of prostaglandins.

  Ya my whole family haf been attend to 1 gynae, but I haben try consulting him, as I dun usually cramp until I can't even get up, just that I will feel aches all over my body, so I only went to my family doc.
  
  and yesh, he gave me a real gd advice asking me to get married and have kids.

  Heheheh yeah... childbirth stretches your uterine and tadah - no more cramps.
  
  Except you have to look after a bigger PAIN, everyday of your life for the next 16 odd years. :p It's a dumb piece of advice.
  
  Btw... the drugs I mentioned can be gotten from any clinic. Doesn't have to be from gynae.

  To my knowledge, mild side effects, if any at all :
  
  Some women are allergic to these drugs. (just like others are allergic to panadol)
  
  Drugs are best taken with some food because they can upset the stomach (overactive gastric activity).
  
  Not recommended for pregnant women.
  
  If you need to take the drug, best to consult the doctor. But I hope your pain isn't that bad that you need them

  I think I will take note of the drugs and ask my doc, cos I have certain drug allergies and gastric problems too.
  
  But no worries, I only take medication when I'm in real pain and I can tahan.

  Hmm ... Never heard of it actually.
  
  Antacids are bases that neutralises acid in the gastric system. I don't see how this affects the uterine leh.
