going to OCS is like masturbating with a cheese grater.. mildly amusing for a short while, but ultimately painful as all hell...
another 9 months of being treated like dirt, then after that, extended reservist liabilities...
what's the point at all?

some are suited to some things... but never ever imply that those who stand in reserve do not serve... that is why there are quitters...
service to a country may be serving 9 to 5... it is the backbone of the country...
in fact, if you want to look at everything from the big picture, the military has been a leech and a parasite to humanity for as long as humanity itself...
i look at things that way, i question why... but as most parasites go, the successful ones attach themselves in such a way that it would be impossible for the host to detach the parasite without wounding the host fatally...
i choose to serve, other ways.. ways derided by many..
as for masters??
the best masters are those who do not seek to be, and the best leaders never ever wanted to be... they are there because they minister to the people.. and they are NEVER EVER slaves...

everyone serving their ns is serving the nation - and no, becoming an officer during ns does not make u serve the country any more than the clerk.
i always find it rather amusing when ppl say things like "oh, i dun want to waste my time during ns. i want to learn something, and do something meaningful. so i chose to go sispec or ocs, rather than becoming a clerk, driver, etc etc" come on! not everyone gets to go sispec or ocs. and it does not mean tt when one does not end up being a sgt or officer, one is wasting one's time, learning nothing, doing totally meaningless things for 2.5 years. all these are up to oneself - whether a person wishes to adopt a positive attitude, and contributes to the best he can, and learns from his experience, be it as a clerk, driver, medic, scout, officer, etc etc. how much a person gains, depends on how much he is wiling to put in.
but master, pls dont be mistaken. im not saying u r one of those ppl. i jus ranting here. its always good to aspire, and live ur aspiration. -
