In a freak accident on Monday evening, a car was hit by an MRT train after the vehicle had crashed onto an MRT track.

Following the accident which happened between the Yio Chu Kang and Khatib Stations, northbound MRT train services in the direction of Khatib have been suspended.
The accident was said to have happened at about 7.25pm, at a time when MRT trains would be packed with workers on their way home.
Police say the Mercedez Benz had veered off Lentor Avenue and crashed through a fence separating the MRT track and the road, before coming to a stop on the MRT track.
But the driver managed to clamber out of the car before an MRT train headed north for Khatib hit it.
The car driver was not injured.
But the unfortunate casualty was a lorry driver who had stopped to help him.
According to eyewitness reports, the lorry driver, on seeing the accident, had apparently stopped his vehicle and got on the tracks to help the car driver.
But as the MRT train approached, gravel flew off the track and hit him, injuring him on the head.
The lorry driver's anxious family arrived shortly at the scene on hearing about the accident.

A CAR was hit by an MRT train after it landed on the tracks between the Yio Chu Kang and Khatib stations on Monday night.
The incident happened at around 7.30 pm. The car crashed through a fence lining the train tracks and landed on the tracks.
The driver of the car, in his 30s, was pulled out of his Mercedes-Benz by a passing lorry driver as a train was approaching.
They managed to escape before the train hit.
Both driver and good Samaritan were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The lorry driver was apparently hurt by flying pebbles, probably as a result of the collision.
Details are still sketchy. It is not known how the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle.
The incident led to the suspension of MRT services between Yio Chu Kang and Khatib stations, leaving hundreds of rush hour commuters stranded.
The SMRT provided buses between Yio Chu Kang and Yishun stations, as well as to Yishun
