Want to tell us what's on your mind currently?Originally posted by Quinsy:I'm feeling super sad now.
Cuz once I break up with him, I would be super lonely. I won't have as much fun as I used to have, I won't get to drink regularly, I won't get the love and pampering I used to get.Originally posted by fudgester:Want to tell us what's on your mind currently?
You might feel a little better if you let it all out.
I'm not sure if I told you this before, but let me say it again if I did....Originally posted by Quinsy:Cuz once I break up with him, I would be super lonely. I won't have as much fun as I used to have, I won't get to drink regularly, I won't get the love and pampering I used to get.
I won't get hugged or kisssed anymore. My mum will still continue to bug me, bf or no bf. And since he wont be there to hug me, kiss me, I will start getting depressed faster.
And since I no longer know who my real friends are, I'll sink into depression pretty quickly.
I'm the way I am because of the environment and circumstances I'm put through. HE puts makes me happy. He knows how to put me in a happy place.Originally posted by fudgester:I'm not sure if I told you this before, but let me say it again if I did....
Remember that you are who you are not because of that guy. You can only be the Quinsy that you choose to be. You don't need the guy to define who you are, and what kind of emotions you're having. You can choose to be depressed, or you can choose to be happy.
The very fact that you're hypothesizing that you might sink into depression shows that you still have control over your emotions. You don't have to sink into depression if you don't want to.
If you feel that there's no one you can really trust out there or in here, then you can still choose to see a proper professional counsellor. He/She can be trusted and will not divulge any information to anyone.
I should know. I sank into a major depression after my best friend threw himself off a HDB block more than two years ago. It took professional counselling to get me back on track. I could have chosen to sink further into depression, but I knew that my friend would not have wanted me to remember him that way. So I chose to do something about it.
And so can you. Now that you know that you can sink into depression, try to do something about it before you get too deep into it.
He may have known how to put you in a happy place. However, you can also learn how to put yourself in a happy place as well. As I've been saying, it's all about the choices that you make. Will you choose to learn to put yourself in a happy place, or will you choose to put yourself in the more-familiar state of depression?Originally posted by Quinsy:I'm the way I am because of the environment and circumstances I'm put through. I don't know how not to be depressed when I have parents like mine. I wasn't as depressed because I was out of the house most of the time. Being cooped at home really kills me.
I don't like professional counsellors. They seem so distant and cold. And the fact that they are paid to make me feel good kinda irks me.
BEing happy means being away from home. Being with him, being showered with the positive attention.Originally posted by fudgester:He may have known how to put you in a happy place. And how do you know that professional counsellors are cold and distant if you haven't even tried that option yet? The fact that you said that they 'seem' distant and cold tells me that you haven't had experience with them before. Or if you did, one cold and distant professional counsellor is not the same as all of them being cold and distant.
On my part, it took me months to make an appointment to see a professional counsellor. It doesn't have to do with money, for my school provides free counselling services. Rather it had to do with, sadly speaking, my own ego. I was a combat medic specialist in the Army. I saw and talked with plenty of psychiatric cases during SAF Psychiatric Medicine In-House Center duty. I talked to plenty of patients and gave them whatever advice I could.
And there I was, becoming one of those people who needed a listening ear. Do you have any idea how much that thought irked me?
But I made a choice, and I chose swallow my ego and see a professional counsellor. I don't know about you, but if the fact that they're being paid to make you feel better irks you, then I don't know what to say. I was initially irked at having to see a counsellor, but looking back, I know it was the right choice, for it led me to accept my friend's suicide and to move on with my life.
So will choose to be irked at professional counsellors and run the risk of depression? Or will you choose to get over whatever opinions you may have of them and give a shot at happiness?
Your choice, I say. It's not for me to tell you what choice to make.
All you need to do is ask:Originally posted by Quinsy:BEing happy means being away from home. Being with him, being showered with the positive attention.
I no longer have anyone to stay out with, and no one is going to give me any positive attention.
I don't know where to get free counselling.

Gosh, please go back to the top of this page, and scroll down slowly to see what I've been posting. Heck, please go back to pg 2 of this thread. I give some proper advice on how to deal with breakups, and I even went so far as to point the TS towards proper professional counselling.Originally posted by 798:at least i dun add in lame comments like +1 as u did.

And here I see you claiming (without justification) that I've been posting '+1' comments here in this thread. Sheesh.
If you're referring to the 'Tambah satu' comments I've been putting in lame threads in the Bar forum, then what does that have to do with this thread? I certainly didn't put any +1 posts in here. I put lame comments in lame threads. I put serious comments in serious threads. I certainly was trying my best to help the TS in this thread. So what's the beef?
'Nuff said. I'm outta here.
listen. No one is sayanging me.Originally posted by 798:the things i see are TS announcing she is single now n alot of guys coming in to sayang her wif care n concern. as said, "tis is not her first n it definitely not be her last."
